So the Huawei Mate20 Pro's reverse wireless charging? Its maximum power is a whopping 2.5 WATTS.

Suddenly, that ad where they showed 2 people touching their phones back to back as if they were doing an NFC transfer looks a lot less rosy.

It makes sense for the real purpose - charging smaller devices like wireless earbuds or watches or something.

Charging your wireless earbuds while you're draining your phone battery.. seems counter productive because then you can use them both less.

But it's a way to turn your phone into a wireless charging dock for other devices when it's plugged in by cable :D

It's more suited for smaller devices. I don't think it's all that useful though IMO outside of a few very specific use cases.

I still find it funny because that ad showed the Mate20 Pro wirelessly charging another phone, even though it's nowhere near fast enough to do so.

it's within the realm of possibilities. it works, although it's not useful yet.

But could be a start of something Very useful in the future :D

I reckon we'll need something different for that first.

    Inductive charging isn't that efficient.

Then Magnetic Pogopins, they could be made waterproof and have a higher amp tolerance?

Perhaps, but they're going by the wayside.
