  1. The Canadian tax code and the US tax code are different. Apparently this needs to be pointed out. And yes in the US if you pay for something specifically for work you can write it off but there is a minimum that must be met in order for that write off to actually affect your taxes. Each tax bracket has a different minimum. This is the most basic explanation. Btw Linus hits it right on. It's an adjustment not free money. Besides who cares if someone writes off something on their taxes? It's legal, has been for a very long time. It's not free money, just an adjustment to how your taxes are figured. If you don't understand how taxes work then your opinion is just that... an opinion. I suggest to anyone who want give an opinion might want read up and update your opinion so it has validity. And yeah if you use tiktok .. just stop, seek help.
  2. Another example of Apple innovation? removal of the family? E: I was being mostly sarcastic about apple... I don't use this emoji anyhow never had reason for it. As a matter of fact I only use maybe a dozen emojis as is with the seldom random few.

  7. Beside the age of my current rig ... I am wondering [rhetorically] if I really need to consider upgrading. Finally bought and played Jedi: Survivor this past week, ran it on high settings and looks great, ran well, only had two crashes (not hardware related) and my gtx1080 handled it with no issues (that I could see).

I am still planning on the new system but this is just a thought.

It's definitely a case of having your own expectations I think. I have a 2080 and I genuinely cannot wait for the day to come that I can replace it. Like yes, generally speaking at 1440p it's a totally capable card but after having a taste of a 4080 IRL I just hate it.

That was not my experience admittedly. My 1080ti and 4790K PC was stuttery, laggy and running at 1080p 30fps max.

      Upgraded to 7800x / 4080 and I was getting 90+ FPS on 4k. World of a difference!

You don’t need to upgrade 👋.

  10. Careful how you refer to others as sane... Printers on my network are hardline to my network and not shared [passthrough] through my pc. They have a dedicated connection on the network switch, this would be the "sane" move imo, easy access to everyone. *edit. Passthrough or shared printer can give access to your pc to others, not hard to use this to access your files by sharing your printer this way.

  14. -= Locked =- After further review, this topic has more of a political tone than what is allowed. Politics is still banned in the forums.
  15. -= Moved to General Discussion =- Topic does not meet the definition of Tech News. Using tech doesn't make it tech news.
  16. -= Locked =- Unfortunately, this is not something we can help with. Your best bet is to seek assistance from an apple technician.
  17. Common practice is to have your system to only draw 40-60% of the total psu will supply. This keep your psu from being over worked and being used at peak efficiency. If you buy a 650watt psu then your system should be drawing roughly 275 - 550watts.
