arronleeds got a reaction from ActionMan in Best CPU Aircooler for i7 4770
Why are you guys recommending coolers that are expensive for a cpu that won't overclock...... Just get a hyper 212 Evo.

arronleeds got a reaction from ajoe32 in building new computer advice for cpu and motherboard ($2500) max
urgh youre an idiot, rendering puts stress on the cpu, the stock cooler wouldnt be good enough.
and a non k i7 is a stupid idea for rendering.... please learn some more, thanks.
id suggest something like a noctua nh-d15 over the h100i anyway, its quiter and performs near enough the same for less.

arronleeds reacted to xAcid9 in R9 Nano, AMD Dissapoints again
The card basically running at 870ish mhz average and beating a reference 980 at similar power consumption and much smaller size. Great little card with not so great price.

All 4gb is usable. Its just that the speeds are compromised on the final 500mb sector

arronleeds reacted to WereCat in 558 Vs. 598? What's different?
Nevermind. I though the frequency is the same. Not sure if it matters because if I am not wrong you shouldnt be able to hear anything that is at that frequency. Maybe only feel trough vibrations.
However I have HD 558 and they are really really good in my opinion. Very happy with them. For watching movies, listening to music or playing games they are simply awesome.

arronleeds reacted to Naeaes in 558 Vs. 598? What's different?
Do you perhaps mean Sennheiser HD 558 and HD 598 headphones by this?
HD 598 has way wider frequency range. Find a store where you can listen and evaluate if it's something you consider twice as good.

Depends on the system it is used on too though, those old Bloomfield i7's were real monsters in heat and power draw.

arronleeds reacted to MMKing in A Difficult Choice
It's hard to say for certain, but current data heavily implies that AMDs 300/fury series GPU beats Nvidias 900/titan series GPU in DX12 games. In addition, the 390x has much more ram and it's significantly faster. Again, memory amount and speed may not be important to the degree that the difference between the 980 and the 390x is significant.
What i would do, since you're planing to buy for 5-7 years would be to wait for the next generation Nvidia/AMD. No doubt the next generation cards will have superior DX12 support, and new memory technology makes affordable 16GB cards a reality.

arronleeds reacted to OAcesync in What is 2GB or 4GB or MORE?
It's VRAM it's basically memory that's allocated towards Graphical settings and textures. So basically the higher the resolution or the higher you have the graphic settings on or the more textures you use the more Vram is used.

arronleeds reacted to Morgan MLGman in poll time, do you have a amd or nvidia (gpu) and why
I bought Nvidia's GTX 970 cause at the time R9 390 wasn't out, the R9 290X was worse and nothing indicated that the 390 would change anything

well im sorry but he is an idiot then , he should use the internet rather than listen to some guy trying to sell something who has no clue, i worked in pcworld in the uk, people would come in and the staff would blatantly lie to them to try sell pcs, id quietly go in the corner and tell them to build one, against my job yes, but im not having a company take someones hard earned money so they can thob them off with lies.

I bought Nvidia because the reviews were better and the card runs cooler.
