  1. Can somebody recommend an adhesive I could buy separately and use with the heatsinks? I'm just a bit paranoid about that kinda thing failing on me. Not everyone can budget in a custom loop ontop of a high-end computer, things like this can make a big difference for much less. Plus some people prefer one over the other
  2. This has happened before and after updating BIOS. It's happened again today, twice in fact. Once when opening Streamlabs OBS, and after rebooting, when opening discord again. No event logs in either instance. I'm wondering if it's a CPU power issue, so I'm going to plug in the extra 4 pin CPU connector. Bit of a long shot as I know that's really for extreme overclocking, but short of replacing my entire computer I'm really out of options. Is there any downside to using the extra 4 pin connector? Any BIOS settings I may have to change once it's plugged in?
  3. Tried to replicate it with & without lots of background garbage running, and I'm on the latest BIOS (also updated first post, man I'm bad at this) and really am trying to put off reinstalling windows in case I do that and this keeps happening anyway, I've got windows set up *just right*
  4. Nope, as stated above, it's happened with and without XMP running. As far as I can tell my CPU, GPU, RAM are all working normally. I do have a usb stick with memtest on it that I intend to use at some point, but as this happens so infrequently and I suffer from chronic laziness I still haven't done it
  5. Sorry, forgot to add those details in first post, a bit tired. No overclocks, it's happened with two separate RAM sets, with & without XMP enabled. It's also happened with 2 different GPU drivers (I'm pretty bad at keeping them up-to-date) and around November last year I wiped & reinstalled every driver necessary. Don't have any RGB software or things like that running either.
  6. About 30 times in the past 8 months my computer has hard rebooted itself when loading specific games, and now for the second time when loading the discord desktop app. It first happened seemingly at random when loading GTA 5, I would get a couple of seconds of the intro screen then reboot. The next time it happened was when joining a CSGO server; a couple of seconds of game sound from whatever map it happened to be then BAM! Reboot! Today it happened after restarting discord and that's finally led me to stop being lazy and ask for help, however, I did do *some* testing back in February. As it happened the most with GTA 5 I kept trying to replicate it with that. *I did the following with my RAM XMP profile enabled AND disabled, as that was the only thing I have really touched in my BIOS. This has also happened after switching from 2666MHz RAM to 3200MHz RAM.* I tried loading it with as many background programs open as possible, with none at all, while uploading & downloading things, while alt-tabbing & opening the steam overlay, but nothing I tried triggered these reboots, the worst is that GTA 5 crashed a couple of times. I've run several CPU & GPU benchmarks too, those have never given me an issue. Almost forgot; I've played BF5 almost every other day for ages now, despite being a resource-heavy game BF5 has never caused this reboot to happen. Every time it happened it left 0 errors in the windows event viewer, the ONLY error I would get logged is the 'kernel loss of power' error, but no other errors- critical or otherwise, at the time of the reboots. Is my PSU just a bit dumb sometimes? Sadly I don't have a test bench and given the lockdown I can't swap bits out with my brother's computer to really rule out GPU or CPU faults, but given how stable this computer is pretty much 99.99% of the time, I'm really scratching my head with this one. hurdur forgot to post rig lol Ryzen 2700X (no oc) MSI X470 Gaming Plus (on latest BIOS) 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 (XMP enabled) Palit RTX 2080Ti Dual (no oc) be quiet! Straight Power 11 750W
  7. I think the last two upgrades we actually asked for, still got them for free, but before that it was automatic and we'd get a letter & email soon after. Fingers crossed they'll do that this time
  8. I bought a Crunchie bar. Unrelated to the video, but I wanted one.
  9. Paying for 350/35, so not too bad. I'd happily lose half the download for twice the upload, but it's reliable enough that I don't mind, and not having any data caps is a blessing! Having said that, the Hub 3.0 (I think it's Samsung tech underneath) is *actually* a steaming pile of shit with electricity running through it.
  10. Those are pretty good temps, having the rad as an intake might get you around 5c lower, give or take, so it's really a question of aesthetics at this point and whether you want those few extra degrees of headroom should you decide to overclock at all (assuming you haven't already). Nice build! That's positive pressure!
  11. https://www.aorus.com/X570-AORUS-PRO-rev-10#pd_spec No wifi comes with this revision. As @Sakkura said, with a wifi board you can still use it wired.
  12. Basically the government mining agency wanted to reduce subsidies, and was closing pits at a steady rate. There were strikes, power outages as a result, but sadly Thatcher and her cronies won out in the end, and mining communities quickly became some of the poorest places in the country and are still suffering as a result of all the pit closures over the last 40 years.
  13. Welp, better call the police, we're all doomed.
  14. Or he could just leave it unlisted and give the URL to his teacher. Relax, folks!
  15. 16TB worth of HDDs, and my first ever m.2 drive @ 1TB! Yayyyyyyyyyyy!
  16. Can I just stick to giving my data logs to my GP in person? ?
  17. This was my christmas gift in 2004, complete with HL2 ready to go. All I can remember is it had a Pentium 4, an Nvidia 6800 (possibly the LE), and I'd guess 4GB of RAM. Ohh, and an 80GB hard drive ? As for current upgrades I only really need some new case fans and bigger HDDs, perfect timing with the deals coming tomorrow ?
  18. I caved. It was fun fiddly getting it in, and now I have even more LTT stickers woo!
  19. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
  20. You're right, it doesn't need to be that way. It isn't necessary to use geforce experience, I've never installed it and never had a problem.
  21. The wikipedia page on electromagnetic fields covers all of it I'd guess. If you've been using computers, TVs, phones etc. for this long without dying, BT headphones ain't gonna kill you.
  22. It'd be 3 for my 360 rad, and 2 for the GPU cooler rad, but potentially just 2 as I'm tempted to buy the LTT NH D15
  23. GPU cooler, 3 hard drives, 5 (or 2) new fans, and if there's room in the budget a 512 m.2 SSD so I can have more than 4 games installed at a time
