also fo that buget, cpu and mobo it makes perfect sence... you could probs get close to 1ghz oc, which seems worth it to me, neverlone the cooler cpu temps

re-seated it and tightened everything ran a stress test 100% load 61c (but averaging 58) csgo, 54c at 90% cpu. im happy now. thanks for the help

drop the water cooler,get a h110 board and get an i5... there is no need for a z170 and water cooling on a locked cpu

look up cooler retention bracket 290 and you might find it

alternatively buy a dead on and get it of that
