  1. I guess we'll never know because i3's aren't getting the exposure they need.
  2. The i3-4370 IS the fastest dual core processor. ALL i3's have hyper-threading. Do the math.
  3. Let me re-iterate; other than "fidelity features", the only thing you're losing is physical core states and 2 MB of L3. i3's have hyper-threading. For what I'm building, I'm a clean person, so I'll never need more than two physical cores. http://ark.intel.com/compare/80817,77495
  4. So I've been digging through Ark when I noticed that the i3-4130 is the WEAKEST desktop i3 while the i3-4370 is the STRONGEST desktop i3. Now, there's a $30 difference here, yet performance suggests that lower end i3's are like beefed-up Pentiums, while higher end i3's are like toned-down i5's. The cheapest i5 right now is the i5-4460 and that costs $190; the i3-4370 only costs $143. If this chip has the middle end performance on a middle end price, why is it getting no exposure?
  5. Thanks! I just checked out G2A and... the currency is in Phillipene pesos?
  6. You need an iso and a key You wrote the iso to the usb and your computer can identify the usb, yes? If not then this is a usb issue.
  7. It would be nice if I didn't have to buy a DVD drive, an OS, and other crap, but hey, what can you do. I need an OS for my new build so that I can reach a <$700 budget gaming pc. I have a USB stick, but where I download OS's, how do I load them into the stick, and will a new computer's bios be able to detect a USB with U3 on it? Oh, and here's muh build if anyone's wondering... i5-4460 AsRock h81m-itx (didn't plan on overclocking) g skill sniper 8 gb ddr3 1600 cm storm devastator bundle blue (30 off my budget) evga 500-kr seagate barracuda 500gb (I don't play THAT many games) sapphire r7 265 dvi-d to hdmi cable (any moot brands?) bitfenix neos black I also planned on buying an IKEA MICKE for $50 but found a good table for free instead.
  8. There is no "PC" version of the Xbox One controller. Unlike the Xbox 360 controller, all Xbox One controllers are compatible with driven devices out of the box. However, on PC, the Xbox One controller will either require a Micro-USB cable (the console comes with one) or the new wireless dongle coming out. Regular X1 controllers will cost you $60, while controllers with the new 3.5mm headset jack will cost $65-70. This may not interest you, but search through http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories and you will find what you're looking for. In your case, I'd purchase the $75 Xbox One Controller + Play & Charge Kit Bundle. It will save you $10 off on a Play & Charge Kit, so you'll be ready for the wireless dongle.
  9. tbh I couldn't figure out where to put this thread, so basically I already have a DVD drive to install windows, but it requires a driver to run, and I don't feel like wasting the money on a DVD drive when I could get a graphics card. I have ONE usb stick, and that means that I either have room for an os that will install the driver or the driver itself. I know I could just install the operating system, go back to my laptop and get the driver, but I don't feel like putting forth the effort. Is there a simpler way to get the DVD drive working so I can install a proper OS?
  10. i3-4160; that's the one that comes with Intel HD graphics, right? Fair enough. H81; no. I mean, I don't know, from what I hear, H81 is the devil and should never be considered. Seagate; I already have a hard drive, what I need is an iso of "Paragon". AMD; I'm not familiar with Radeon cards, could someone explain? Case; I chose the XION XON-560-BK because 1. it's beautiful, 2. it has excellent cable management, and 3. it's $40 Oh well, thanks for the help anyways.
  11. Let me clarify... I have an HDMI cable, it's just that I don't want to use the TV as my main display. The HP 2009m has a DVI and VGA connection. Also, the 750 Ti SC comes with a adapter. And yes, this is my first build. I am a noob.
  12. Don't tell me the odds! I want to build my first DIY PC with parts no older than Janury 1st, 2013. I may be hypocritical of that statement later, but just bear with me while I list my ideal parts: ASUS GRYPHON Z87 MOBO $120 G Skill Ares 2 x 4 GB DDR3 $50 EVGA 430W PSU $33 EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC $140 Intel Pentium G3258 $70 XION XON-560-BK case $40 CM SickleFlow 120 $10 CM Storm Devastator $30 I live in the US and plan on ordering ALL parts from Newegg. I want this computer to be able to play World of Warplanes on high settings, emulate older games, a little work in GIMP and Sketchup Make, and of course, browse the internet. I already have a HDD w/ windows vista, will buy 8.1 when 10 releases, so I will need a copy of "Paragon". As for displays, I sadly only have VGA cables, but I have a 1080p TV and an HP 2009m. I am in desperate need of a keyboard, and I won't make the mistake of wireless ever again. So what do you guys think? are my choices sound? What could I cheap out on?
  13. So I guess they're just going to do NOTHING with the Marathon IP then?
  14. GTX 590 for $100? Which is better, GTX 590 or GTX 750 Ti SC?
  15. If you're looking for aesthetics, go for the XION xon-985-bk
