Leonardo9717 reacted to Fasauceome in Do I have a dangerous PSU
Did you test the figures?
I bought a watt meter myself to see if wattage calculators were any good, the vast majority slap a couple hundred watts or so on top of their calculations which is pretty excessive. Be quiet has a vested interest in you buying higher wattage, more expensive PSUs anyway. As you can see in my sig my PC draws only 400 watts, but type my specs into any calculator and it might say over 600

"Potentially dangerous, but only in specific situations"
You're most likely fine..

Actually it's FLEX mode not asynchronous....whoops
Seems there's some more nuance to it than that, the matched sizes will be dual channel and the extra will be single..or something.....but with ram prices so low may as well just get another 8gb stick

It will probably work in asynchronous mode with mismatched sizes but it won't be optimal

All made by Seasonic.
They are good-to-fantastic quality power supplies.

Yes... I even ran it on a 250W for a test
As long as you don't buy Nox, Tacens, Unyka, L-Link.... basically any <50 € PSU that claims 600W or more that looks sketchy AF you're fine.
Also you've at the same price the S12II series PSU, similar but with more cables if you need them: http://xtremmedia.com/Seasonic_S12II_430W_Bronze.html

You're fine - 960 draws 180W on average.

Leonardo9717 reacted to PlayStation 2 in PSU's capacitator blown help*
The 960 is a power sipper, and even with the i5, it'll be more than good enough.

I wouldn't run that PSU anymore, it'll be sending a lot of ripple to the components which will kill them after a while.

Dang only 240w on the 12v rail. I think it may have just cut out to lack of power(don't quote me on that).
For the love of god please don't get a cx power supply
