Missed it again.  Got through the quiz and ZERO available.  I like what you're doing Linus, but it still just feels as bad as when the bots raid the stores on notification.

I ran a GTX 1070 with my 2600 with no issues.  This 580 for $169 might be a pretty good fit.

I'm running a B450 Tomahawk(non-max) with bios update and a 3600.  I was able to over clock pretty well on my 2600, but the 3600 isn't taking to it as well.  Could be worse luck in the silicon lottery, could be the board is about cashed in terms of performance, but the Tomahawk is supposed to be one of the better B450 boards out there in terms of VRMs and features so you might look there.  I'm planning on a B550 when they drop and either picking up a 3700X cheaper(they're $275 at Newegg right now), or keeping the 3600 and going ham when the 4th gen drops.

If you budget is unlimited I'd say wait for Ryzen 4 or just upgrade to 10th gen Intel.  There's not much point in limping along something in the 8000 series of Intel stuff if you're wanting to upgrade to the most modern kit out there.  If you had to upgrade now(just my opinion), I'd get a X570/B550 board and put a 3600 in it for the moment until the new chips drop if you're really wanting to go Ryzen 4th gen.  All your kit will be compatible with 4th gen and even now you'll double your CPU thread count and get an unlocked chip.  Or go even further and get a 3700X and really turn up the heat if your funds truly are unlimited.  Newegg has them on sale right now for $275.

Newegg has the 2600 on sale for $119 right now.  I've been happy with mine.  4.1 GHz all core with only 1.35v

I bought my ROG Strix 1070 on eBay last year in October for $240 shipped.  Market was different, I didn't feel like I got ripped off or anything.

Also had the Noctua Fans too.  Upgrades were from a Xeon E3-1276 v3(3.6Ghz-4.0Ghz turbo), MSI Z97 PC Mate, 16GB of Crucial Ballistix(DDR3-1600), EVGA GTX 960 SSC(4GB), Raidmax 530W power supply.  Before the Xeon I was running a G3258 @ 4.4Ghz with the previously mentioned hardware.  I got the 1070 from eBay a few weeks ago for $200, honestly it's made a world of difference, but I really just wanted to get back into a newer rig and go back to AMD.  When I was in college I had a lot of fun with the old Socket A Athlon chips and overclocking the snot out of them with lots of air cooling.  Noise has never been a concern for me.  I actually like the sound of a big gnarly air cooled PC, reminds me of a Harrier Jump Jet taking off.

    Miners are cancerous.

If you mine on your existing hardware, it doesn't apply. If you buy tons of cards at a time, screw you.

Miners are only part of the problem, the other (main) problem is the memory shortage, which affects the vendor's ability to manufacturer new GPUs to keep up with the demand.

I'd like to get a couple RX 580s or a Vega 56 right now, but don't think that'll happen anytime soon. =P

Unless you've a fast hand, i would recommend just sticking it out on the 960.

I was going to say, that looks a little off, and then ask how the hell he got his G41 chipset to clock like that because I definitely need to know.

Thanks Harry.  I bumped it to 383 and posted ran fine.  433 was a no go.  Bumped it back to 400, no dice.  399 got me a 3.21Ghz clock and seems to be running pretty well.  I'm gonna futz with it today and see how it tolerates it.  Just for grits and shins, what would be a good OC motherboard for this CPU that wouldn't break the bank.  I have some buddies that have access to some used stuff from time to time, might have them look out for something for me.
