FreebaseJosh reacted to givingtnt in Just a small suggestion on the WAN Show
here is what I think.
for the next weeks. we should have linus. with one of te lmg crew person.
each weeks is somebody new. though the main host stays either linus or luke. but with a co-host different each week. for at least one round with everybody from the lmg crew.
would be a nice way of presenting people working with them. (new people)

FreebaseJosh reacted to dalekphalm in EA skipped a Battlefront campaign because "very few" would play it
I don't know about you, but a game based in the Half Life universe, using the Mass Effect engine and gameplay mechanics, actually sounds totally fucking awesome
However, I do understand your point. Battlefront wasn't just a "Star Wars" game, it was a very specific Star Wars game, with a very specific set of gameplay mechanics and features.
This is somewhat different from those original ideals - for better or worse.
Frankly, I just really want them to release Republic Commando 2

FreebaseJosh reacted to GoodBytes in Lenovo found to include unremovable software which spies on users (a clean install of Windows doesn't fix it - BIOS level)
Microsoft I trust. Much like Google. They have long proven what they collect is safe. Here with Lenovo, we don't know, and I don't see the point in data collecting. Google and Microsoft (as well with Apple), uses that data to, yes sale it, but also to improve their product and services. Lenovo.... hmm doubt it. I think it is just for selling purposes. Also, is the data collected, is it protected? Or their servers are easy to crack?

FreebaseJosh reacted to atomicus in Acer Predator X34 Gsync monitor
The only other monitor I would say it's worth considering is the Asus PG279Q... 1440p (16:9), 144hz and G-Sync. If they can QC it properly and avoid the issues that have plagued the similar Acer XB270HU then it should be a great monitor. That said, Asus don't exactly have the best track record in the QC department either... the original Swift had plenty of issues. There is also the Asus 3800R, essentially their version of the X34, but there is no word on release yet, so it may be next year before we see that.
It's a shame the likes of Samsung and Dell aren't producing these kinds of dedicated gaming monitors, as you know with them you get great design, better QC and great customer service.

Pretty standard sale.
Abnormally high prices with high percentage off makes you think you're getting a good deal.

No, it will be just as easy to be under it. Being at 301 doesn't make you a real member of the club.
They don't have that because everybody but you just uses a new tab.

FreebaseJosh reacted to dalekphalm in Star Wars Battlefront Fighter Squadron Mode - 10 v 10 dogfighting
I must admit, the graphics do look sublime. That Star Destroyer in the background really sells the atmosphere... I just hope they have a level or two in which you can get up close and personal with one - and it has AI turret tracking, etc.
