After 7 years of using my last system I decided to treat myself to an upgrade! Might as well splash some cash if I'm going to be using it long term right? 😝 - Waiting for my 3090 and new PSU to arrive so still using my old card for now 🙂 I am very happy with the new setup, what do you guys think? Hope you like the build!

That's generally a bad idea. Just because Linus did it doesn't mean it's a good idea for everyone.

Im not being bias at all im just saying the cpu he chose is suitable and is more than sufficient for his needs.

I personally think it is a bit late getting any 900 series cards at this stage and i suggest waiting until the next generation of the nvidia cards come out but that is just my personal opinion hope that helps!

hey my lenovo y510p has idel temp of 45-55 degrees and when i game it is 85-95 degrees if i where you i would just play on it and see what temps you are getting

Idle temps are around 40-45 for my Y50
Gaming temps with 8 threads @ 60% load are 82-85*C
If you are bellow 90*C on the CPU and 85*C on the GPU you are good.

I had the older version of the laptop with the 765m, and there was not any throttling issues these. I can't remember the exact temperatures off the top of my head, but they did not cause any issues. The fan speed was quite high to keep it cool however (disabling turbo boost in non cpu intensive games helps quite a bit).

i read this http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2588957/corsair-h100i-gtx-cooler-fit-case-antec-500.html and it says something about not enough ceiling height so im kinda scared to get a 240mm radiator in case it does not fit
