How is PayPal support so lousy?

Every time I try to log into my account, it prompts me for the 2 factor code sent to my phone- which I never receive.

I called them once, they asked for my name- which I gave them and then they said it didn't match any records. Gave them variations of my name, spelt it out and everything. Cool- I hung up.

I read that it might be a problem on my ISP's side, so contacted them, they said they have had this problem for a long while now and it's not even on their end, they don't even receive anything from PayPal's side.

Called PayPal again today, gave them my name for verification, he got it on the first try.

THEN: I tell him about the problems I'm having, spend 10 minutes trying to convince me to contact my ISP, which I already had, and then continued to put me on hold every 3 minutes so he could go look for more solutions.

This last call way 50 minutes, and it ended up with him telling me that they've never encountered this problem before (bullshit, a simple google search will prove that wrong) and they'd send me an email with updates within 4 days.

So that's sweet. Super heated right now

You are not alone, afaik, this is well known among people who've had to deal with them.  Louis Rossmann has some videos on it as well

@Ryan_Vickers Never got into those ones, but I'll definitely take a look into it now

They're more about their ludicrous fees than the service, but he tells a story of their service being poor as an example that they're not spending their money on improving the service and thus don't deserve to charge more

I can definitely see the arguments holding well in each of those. I'll definitely update if they end up actually emailing me back

Have a suspicion that they just said that to get rid of me because they didn't know how to solve my problems ?
