I understand the concern for wanting to put a halt to all production because of concerns for accuracy.  But how much skin are you really losing in the game if you toss a single disclosure statement of (done for entertainment purposes) at the bottom of a video description and just upload something?  The extent of this blackout gives the impression the show is going to be about as dry and boring as a GamersNexus video.  Guess what, they're drab and uninteresting. I watch for Linus antics. I watch for Linus and Alex antics. I watch for Linus and awkward Adam antics. I watch for awkward Dan feedback. I watch for the background commentary on TechLinked. How much of this is your core audience, and are you seriously about to alienate us because of a sharped tongued criticism of benchmarking standards? Yall got any more of them LTT videos?

I'm not. It's unhealthy to want to support a massive money making company. If they have something to offer you like, consume it. If not, then don't.

There has to be a relation and influence between /r/LinusTechTips and LMG. The censorship benefits LMG at this moment. I understand its damage control, but IMO does it hurt more, than what they gain of it. It fall in line with the bad behavior of LMG so far.

LTT has no direct control over the Reddit subforum. They are likely implementing restrictions so that new users do not come in and flood the site with arguments.

The LTT Forums, on the other hand are hosted by LMG, but are run entirely by volunteers and are not officially LMG staff. We allow all criticisms, discussions and comments so long as they are civil and follow the Community Standards.

As a new user on Reddit, I am not allowed to write in /r/LinusTechTips. I need 50 karma points, to write - otherwise it will be deleted. So basically I can not write on the sub and earn points.

Why do LTT censor me and is this really the road LMG want to take?

It wasn't a joke, six nines is in reference to 99.9999% uptime, it's a common industry term. This right here is a perfect example of people overthinking the smallest of details and making mountains out of molehills.

Bananasplit_00 reacted to FreelancerSystem in Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity
I disagree. As Steve said in the HW news follow-up video, LMG is a corporation. That corporation informally attempted to slander GN and HU via that Labs tour clip. After the "Trust Me Bro" scandal, Steve has publicly stated that they will only report on LMG as a corporation and not as a personal relationship due to a conflict of interest for unbiased media coverage. With all that in mind, he has no obligation as a journalist outlet to contact LMG for comment on the situation before publishing a piece that exposes ethical and systemic issues within the company structure. When you attack an outlet that takes extreme pride in standardized hardware testing, you better have your ducks in a row. Which LMG didn't. So Steve did the appropriate thing and showed there were a lot of things LTT needs to figure out and change before they even think about comparing Labs to the quality of GN testing. Plus, a lot of large companies don't make any meaningful changes until they've been publicly exposed. GN avoided a major bullet by not reaching out to LTT for comment or trying to solve this behind closed doors, given Steve's promises on how he would be reporting on LTT and LMG.

Bananasplit_00 reacted to manikyath in how to safely remove battery cells from powerbank?
    false.

the direction doesnt matter anything, because there is no ground reference. the circuit is the exact same seeing the + as your ground or the - as your ground (when the battery + is ground, the - would be seen as a "negative voltage source"), and no matter where in the chain you cut you will introduce essentially the same amount of resistance doing the cut. a circuit requires a complete loop, and no matter where in that loop you cut, the result is the same.

also - at work (i'm a battery repair technician by the way..) we sort of have a habit that if a battery pack has a wire between different cells in series (we see anywhere between 7S all the way up to 20S regularly), we cut that wire first so that the potential total voltage is already halved while we do the rest.

on that note.. if anyone's gonna pop in and talk about an electrocution hazard, 4.2 volts isnt enough to properly pierce the human skin, let alone drive propper current trough the human body. i'm well aware that cell pack can probably do upwards of 10A, but that will never happen by a human fingering battery terminals. we handle up to 10S bare hand at work, because it's just safer to feel what you're doing. (and to be honest.. we handle 20S bare hand too, we just take precautions not to grab the pack *across* the end terminals with 74 volts on it, because that does give a nice tingle.)
