  1. Premium apology, gotta protect that bottom line and get those float plane subs back
  2. Nah its pretty much real time I'd say
  3. Honestly this whole situation isn't even hilariously-awful funny anymore. I just find it sad.

  4. This forum is pretty disconnected from LMG, sure they own it but they don't actively control the mods or community much and never have. It's a very organically grown community which is why many of the more active or senior members are some of LTTs harshest critics.

That part was privately communicated with GN so I believe they are the only source. https://youtu.be/X3byz3txpso
  6. That "we" is carrying so SOOOOOO much weight here. Must be a "we" meaning LMG management seeing as Billet didn't know or agree to any of this before this went up. I am amazed at how you manage to be so technically correct yet still dig an even deeper hole with a single sentence.
  7. Update from GN gave some pretty hilarious new info. Was pretty surprised that Linus stated they were in the process of paying for Billets new prototype, apparently that's not something Billet was in on 😂

I am amazed at how deep a hole Linus has managed to dig for himself, honestly, but his ego will probably just float over it anyway with how inflated it is

Oof, do you have an official response from Billet?

New controversy thread is at 130 post per hour…

I'm sure it has been, but i haven't seen much that's not allowed. Very few posts with removed content. Maybe they have just hid/nuked all the bad. Anyway, hope nobody in the staff has gotten a hard time because of this, they are always doing a stellar job keeping the forum nice

  10. New controversy thread is at 130 post per hour 18h in. That's pretty incredible!

good. that means that all the drama is there, and we can just talk tech here..

like, i wonder how much bandwidth that thread is consuming. it must be significant at that level, right?

Must've been a rough day for all the mods here.

  11. I also doubt Linus cares for my comment on the issue but I can't help but call out this bullshit. The optics of this are just as brown as I paint them. This could literally destroy these people's livelihoods if it gets in the wrong hands. All because a HUGE company would not break a shoot to get the right card or pay not even the supposed prise of the product in someone's time to test it right. It's greedy, it's awful and I am surprised this isn't a criminal case or a lawsuit. As someone currently doing my masters in engineering, this is upsetting to my very soul. The disrespect, the greed, the misconduct... If it was me sending someone I highly respected a prototype for review and I got this treatment, my soul would be crushed.
  12. Nice, maybe you can feel part of what the billet people felt when you ran their faces through the dirt on the silver screen, doubled down on it and auctioned off their IP. Their IP is now out there, somewhere, ready to potentially ruin their business. What if this block is 20C better? And EK gets it, or Corsair or Byski or anyone? Boom, billet no longer exists. Even just a few degrees better because of some innovation they came up with that can now be copied. This is beyond irresponsible and egregious, paying for a new prototype isn't the absolute lowest level you could go. Hiding behind "it was for charity tho guys!! It's not so bad!" is despicable.

Don't go man, it's always sad to loose people from the early days. Stick around for the bonfire instead This is like absolutely the worst possible way they could have handled this, it's going to be hilarious to see how they respond
  14. I honestly didn't think LMGs content had fallen this far since I stopped watching:

Massive thread discussing it. Up over 10 pages last I checked, maybe more now.

  15. Sony WH1000XMx, I have the XM3 and I couldn't be happier with them. The ANC is amazing and the sound is really good too. Definitely a bit bass leaning but not in a destructive way
  16. Opened the computer to see I had left a cute little note for myself last Friday 🥰🥰

I can see you were hoping to forget that you're hosed seeing as how you didn't save the document. 😆

  17. I've seen a lot of Dell posting in the status updates, do you get any clout for having a Latitude 2120? 🤔

  18. The link provided with the tape stackup you quoted says 600A at it's maximum operational temperature. Also there isn't a "very low resistance", it's zero. Like none. 0 ohm. Meaning no resistive loss and therefore no self heating. Superconductivity is pretty epic

This thread sounds hilarious until you realize…

I've had similar reactions, I run Linux on my main desktop because windows is actual ass. Whenever that comes up people seem to really just want to do everything in their power to shit on you. There is absolutely no difference in day to day use besides maybe some programs have slightly different names. You don't have to use the CLI unless you want too. Stopped using my desktop when I stopped paying for Internet but people instantly take that as Linux being so awful to use that I stopped wanting to be on the Internet? Idfk what that's about honestly
  20. I love being able to see what is playing and control media from my wrist, especially if I'm riding a bike/moped/motorbike.(typically do not have my phone on my handlebars, I have a dedicated device for that as a phone is much too distracting.) Don't care at all for "health utilities" so pretty much everything besides that one feature is wasted on me. Honestly dislike getting notifications that buzz on my wrist too.
  21. Depends on how much you twist I'd guess? Idk I just twist enough that the wires stick together and are easier to insert. The screw will crush them just as well probably. Don't think you are going to have any issues whatever you do
  22. I'd crimp ferrules if you don't just want to twist the ends
  23. They are not gaming machines. I have played some very light social games but that's about it. For any serious gaming a desktop at home is much nicer. You are not going to want to carry a bunch of heatsink around if you don't have to. The best part of the surface pro wasn't the pen for me, haven't even used it, it's just that it's not big and heavy and is nice to type on for hours on end. Also for simulations and stuff there could be remote resources available. I have I7 desktop machines I can remote too and run my big matlab or comsol or whatever things on
  24. As a soon to be fourth year electrical engineering student, you will be happier with a nice thing with less performance than a shitty thing with better performance. I had a surface pro 4 for my first two and a quarter years and I have been using a surface laptop 2 for the last half a year. I have never felt a lack of performance from these 8gb ram i5 no gpu machines but have instead been extremely happy to have had a really nice touch screen with a nice keyboard. If possible, ask older students what they have and how that has worked for them.

Dropped in that i7-4790, and oh boy, does that…

The LGA1150 platform has as far back as I can remember had a strong after market price. Weirdly so. Might be because it's the last consumer platform that used DDR3?
