  1. Well the computer does not light up when charger is plugged in, it was a bright flash from the screen when it happened suspect a fuze or cap went kaboom inside? Sounded like a click or poof... I do have a desktop with a HDD reader so that should be fine? Just worried the drive died to or that it's encrypted by Windows?
  2. So if my HDD is OK after my laptop decided to go out in a blaze of Glory while I was watching Amphibia, it went like click or poof not entirely sure... Either way if the drive is alive how easy is it to get the files out of windows 10 installs?
  3. OK I have a MSI laptop and I wanna install this SSD, tough I have 1 tiny problem... Should I clone the drive or do fresh install? MSI Laptop came with the original Windows install and I a not sure ai can just install a new Windows and code will be valid?
  4. ASUS RX 6600 XT dual OC Yes it can do 1920x1200(64hz) or 75 at the lower resolution, tough the option to pick anything even down at 720p is flat out gone in Windows... I even tried 800x600 still only 60hz is listed...
  5. Tried HDMI and Display Port, then I go to Windows the only option listed is 60hz. Edit: did work before with HDMI so I double verified that should not be the issue...
  6. HP 2445W it can do 64~75hz Custom resolution did work before the update...
  7. Tried so far: * Replace cable * DDU driver once * custom resolution in Radeon control panel On my to try list: * uninstall windows monitor driver * try Radeon additional settings Bug started after RSR update came for the Radeon control panel... Any suggestions? I even take the stupid ones!
  8. Standard box they come in, sometimes the cables are black and white other times just all black... (sometimes gold packaging)
  9. CSM is CSM, What Is CSM Support & Should I Enable It in BIOS? [Answered] (partitionwizard.com)
  10. Have you enabled resiable bar, 4G encoding and made sure it does not run with CSM on?
  11. CPU: * 8-core Zen-2 Renoir (12mb total cache) bare minimum cache * 6-core+SMT Zen-2 Matisse (35mb total cache) bare minimum core count, aim for 3600X or tweak a 3600. * 6-core+SMT Zen-3 Cezanne (19mb total cache) recommended * 6-core+SMT Zen-3 Vermeer (35mb total cache) even better! * AMD/Intel CPU with similar performance or better. GPU: * Radeon RX 6600 XT (bare minimum, matches PS5 RDNA2 in TFLOPS) * Radeon RX 6700 XT (recommended matches the Xbox Series X in RDNA2 TFLOPS) * AMD/Nvidia GPU with similar performance or better. RAM: * DDR4-3200 16GB minimum, 32GB dual-rank kit is probably best. That about sums it up, prices for each item will no way in hell beat a console but at the very least it is yours & should last about as long if you plan to match them. Disclaimer: PC ports may suck major ass and cannot always be a 1 to 1 comparison...
  12. Well I guess I can at best try the DP to VGA adapter and see what happens if windows will allow me to set it to other Hz again, in the past it could do 1280x1024 at 75hz or 1920x1200 64hz so worth a shot it's only 30 bucks for adapter and I have so many VGA cables....
  13. The overclocking utility for Nvidia and AMD seemed to work 1920x1200 64hz? Also the 75hz thing is kinda standard for most LCDs at 1280x1024 resolutions are they not? HP L2445w is model of LCD panel...
  14. Ok so my monitor kinda refused to go to 64~75hz after replacing the GPU + cable, most posts on the interwebs seems to pin the blame on my new HDMI to DVI cable. So basically if I go with a DP to VGA adapter would I solve the problem? Or is DP to DVI better as a fix? A guy on reddit said DP to VGA would be best for more Hz better...
  15. I would consider a Radeon 6600 to 6700 XT level of graphics card to pair with that, kinda leaning towards the 6700 more since x16 slot... Now if on budget like me who is poor pleb then 6600/6600 XT. Edit: I has R5-3600 paired with 6600 XT
  16. Intel 12th gen i5-12400 Intel B660 motherboard with d4 Recycle old DDR4 + GPU = win
  17. Since new phones are so expensive these days, maybe buy a mid-range or fix the old ones is more profitable? Sure the Samsung have expensive SAMOLED so does new iPhones but the cost of the new devices makes me think fixing the old or buying mid-range is the way to go forward. 😅

      Buying an old iPhone is more recommended IMO. Better longterm support than Android although they're not my personal preference

      There's a brand called Blu that makes decent phones for like $100-250, they have one on Amazon with a decent Helios chipset that looks OK for the price as well

      I don't think screens have to do with anything. The Samsung Galaxy S3 for example also had a super amoled screen, in fact every single Galaxy S phone since the first Samsung Galaxy S had a super AMOLED screen.

      The iPhone 7's and 8's are still quite capable.

      Perhaps true, at least for the iPhone 8, however they have crap battery life and their design dates back to September of 2014.

  18. Since Vance got rekt by googles legal team I am gonna tell you all a secret, you can get ad free music by doing the following & able to play while screen is locked... (worked for me atliest)

    * download firefox

    * install adblocker

    * add the YouTube music website to home screen so it looks like a app

    * sign in

    * 5th step is profit

    You can also do it with regular youtube yes?

  19. Used GTX 960? I think you will probably be fine with even lower end than it maybe.
  20. Well all of them are Samsung C-DIE, which means the only difference is PCB layout. It's wird it will only boot when I mix PCB layout in both channels rather than like before each channel had their own matching set 9f kits! Keep in mind it was fine but not fine in the opposite way prior to the update. It's just so weird!
  21. Well first letter is capital so that should not be a issue?
  22. Okay 1 I had to re-install Windows, not shocking really what else is new? Then 2 change the way my 4 sticks of RAM was setup on the board... Before: (Booted to safe mode only) HyperX 2666MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) G.SKILL 3200MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) HyperX 2666MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) G.SKILL 3200MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) After: (All is OK? Tough this is the wrong way to do it right? You are not suppose to mix sticks in same channel right?) HyperX 2666MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) HyperX 2666MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) G.SKILL 3200MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) G.SKILL 3200MHz CL16 (8GB Samsung C-die) Is this a bad sign? Is this a sign of a issue?!! (this setup did not work prior to BIOS update, now it does...)
