  1. On the wan show, I believe 2 weeks ago or so Linus mentioned filming a video about cameras he set up so he could see his son's sporting matches at school. I can't seem to find the video though. Anyone got a link?
  2. Integrated GPU will be enough for my uses as I won't be gaming much until maybe next summer I considered going with the Ryzen 5 3400g but I'm going to be limited to B450 boards that can do a bios update without an older AMD CPU and it seems like a lot of those boards are going to cost $150+ CAD which I feel doesn't make sense to spend when I'm only spending $200 on my CPU. Or I could buy a X570 board which will work out of the box but those are expensive too. I don't want to deal with the BIOS update stuff since I might run into issues and I need this PC up and running in 2-3 weeks Ryzen 5 3600 is out of my price range especially since I will need to buy a cheap GPU to go with it. I know 650w is way more than I need but I might add a GPU in the near-ish future (next summer) and I don't want to purchase a new PSU if I decide to do that. Is it really? Keep in mind this is in CAD so its about 110 USD. Any PSU recommendations? I've taken a look at the tier list but the list is really extensive and I'm not quite sure where to begin
  3. Budget (including currency): Want to limit CPU, mobo, ram to about $400 CAD. No fixed budget for PSU, case, storage - I don't mind spending more on a nice case/PSU since I won't be replacing these for a long time Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly programming for school, running multiple VMs is probably the most intensive task I'll do. I'll be gaming but only on Geforce NOW or light stuff like league of legends Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm upgrading from a laptop but I already have peripherals. Currently have a 1440p 144hz monitor but won't be gaming much as of now since I'm busy with school. I want to go with a 650w PSU though since I might add a GPU in the future. 4. I'm actually looking to replace an older router so no. How much do you think it's worth spending? I'm willing to go up to 100 but if I don't have to that's even better. I just need something good quality that will last me a while EDIT: also i'll be using like 10+ devices on it wirelessly, so that's important too
  5. I need some recommendations for routers that are around the 100 dollar price point. I'm really unfamiliar with routers so I don't really know what to look for. If it's relevant I'm going to be using it in a pretty small 2 bedroom apartment.
  6. @MageTank On the data sheet for the memory I bought it lists these? Should I follow these timings when I set the frequency to 1600 and voltage to 1.35v? PnP JEDEC TIMING PARAMETERS: • DDR3-1866 CL10-11-10 @1.5V • DDR3-1600 CL9-10-9 @1.5V • DDR3-1333 CL8-9-8 @1.5V http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX318C10FR_8.pdf
  7. Because it was the newest and the same price as the previous i5 so I figured there wasn't any harm in getting it. The non-d3 version of that mobo is hard to find in my area so I just got it. Besides, it says it supports DDR3 so how was I supposed to know? This isn't my fault at all. Anyway, I'll try and see if they'll allow me to return it.
  8. So like the title says i bought the asus h110m-a d3, i5-6500 and kingston hx318c10fr/8, and I've been running this setup fine for a few days. However, a friend of mine brought to my attention this video: What should I do? Is it fine to just set my memory to run at 1.35V and underclock it?
  9. Valve are too good at selling dem hats Does LCS really pay the players? I thought the teams/sponsors paid them.
  10. http://www.dota2.com/international/compendium ... and counting. Last years prize pool was more than 10 million dollars, and this year the prize pool is projected to reach 17 million dollars. http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/34oer2/final_prize_pool_prediction_by_regression/ yay esports
