Hey. I’m trying to make a studio out of a small bedroom and a light stand needs quite a bit of space. So what I want to do is desk mount the light with a clamp style stand like the elgato multi mount. The elgato has a ball head for cameras though. I found a neewer product that seems to be what I’m looking for. But there is no one that has posted it working with lights as heavy as what I want to use. The amaran plus the light dome is 2kg give or take. Any suggestions?

I am self employeed. I am building a business. I think I am a productive person, but new beginnings can be stressful and that's where my procrastination tendencies are born. I already own a Mac. Though, not a top of the line model or anything but a 2017 13' pro. It can run league just fine, but I've never felt like playing while on my mac, even when I had no access to my desktop. I don't know. I'll do me a favor and fully delete the game from my computer and make it a point not to play for a month or something, and then I'll rethink the whole thing

That's a good point. Yes. I am considering not doing the playstation thing at all. At least not yet. I want to stick though to what you said. You are more productive on your macbook. And probably there is an element of you wanting to be more productive and giving it your best, for sure, but I believe the whole experience (oh god i sound like a marketing campaign for mac) is more focused on productivity. I am inclined to give it a shot. Worst case I miss gaming so much that i seriously consider your pshycologist advice

I do agree that the m1 mac mini is a good deal. What I'm mostly interested in when it comes to the upcoming macbooks is the fact that they might have mini led displays, giving them potentially similar specs to the pro display xdr (the one with the 1k stand ). I do a lot of work with colors and a mobile version of the xdr display seems tempting. But yes you are absolutely right. The mac mini is a great little computer and I am considering it. My main thing is to separate work from gaming and actually at this point in my life stop online gaming fully!

So. I've been building PCs for the better part of a decade now. I've built and used many systems and have been Windows user primarily (i own an iphone and an older macbook pro). Last year I realised my productivity had taken a huge dip, thanks in part to my ability to find every excuse to procrastinate. I found myself playing League of Legends obsessively with a few hours of actual AAA games sprinked in there. Playing league has become a "comfort" thing for me. Whenever things get hard I go back to playing. I am looking to improve my productivity and take control of what I do in the time I use my computer. My point is this. I have been thinking about switching from Windows to MacOS, by selling my 2070super desktop for a 16" apple sillicon macbook pro when they come out, and buy myself a PS5. That way I can compartmentalise each "workflow" so that If I want to game it's not on my work computer, If I have to work it's not on my gaming setup. Has anyone had a similar experience and / or did something similar to this? Did switching improve your productivity? Am I crazy? Thanks :)

This video, though not in English, is a good representation of how I use the mic. In this specific video I’ve turned up the gain to almost full. At this distance I’m not finding that there is any clipping, but the mic was picking up sounds from different rooms at times, like spoons hitting plates from the kitchen and such. as I said, I’m pretty new to this, and would love for some conservative feedback on how to fix some of those problems! So I recently bought a podmic that's plugged into a focusrite scarlett solo v3. I am using this setup to record audio for my youtube channel, and I am finding that I have to turn the gain to 3/4ths of the way to full, any more and I start getting noise or clipping. I was wondering If a cloudlifter would fix that for me. I'm pretty new to this. I am open to different suggestions as well, as long as the price is similar Thanks

So for context i'll add what is important build-wise: for the new work pc: Ryzen 3 3200G, G.Skill Aegis 8GB DDR4-3000MHz, MSI B450 pro-m2 Max. My main has: i5 8600k, G. Skill Trident Z 16gb (2x8) - 3200MHz, Gigabyte z370 Aorous ultra gaming, rtx 2070 super. Situation is this: work pc doesn't FULLY boot with new stick of ram. It boots until the mobo shows a dram stopcode, so i use new stick on main pc to test if it is faulty, but main pc boots fine with new stick. I'm thinking faulty dimm slots on new work mobo, but I tried my trident Z (one of my 2 dimms) and new work pc boots fine. So the new stick is not faulty. The ram slots are fine cause I checked with my main's ram sticks. It's just that the new stick of ram does not work with the new pc. Pins are fine as well on CPU. What should I do?

I am building a budget pc for work, for excel and stuff. It’s a ryzen 3 build, and I got a 3000mhz 8gb stick for it. I get a motherboard led on dram and it’s not booting. I tried my main pc trident z on it and it boots. I also tried the new stick on my main pc and it also boots. It’s just the new pc with new ram not working. What’s going on?

So I have a rig with an I5 8600k and today I decided to tune my oc a bit. I was able to get 5Ghz at 1.3V. I would like to know if that is a usual OC, good / bad / mediocre.I tried going higher. I reached 5.2Ghz at 1.35V but it was unstable not rendering maps in games and getting (somehow) lower score in cinebench. Thanks!

Just to conclude here, I was at work when I asked the question here, and I had left my FiiO connected to my pc when I left. When I came back It had installed drivers and it was recognized in playback devices without me having done anything. Its working perfectly ever since! Thanks for your input anyway guys. Cheers.

Since I’m not getting a popup to install this software when I plug the E10k is there a download link for me to do it manually?

Firstly thanks for taking the time to help. Yes i did. Not on device manager either. I searched under audio devices. But there was no other devices section which makes me think it is not there. The light turns blue when I plug it so it’s probably not dead. Maybe an interference with some software on my machine? I don’t really know. I restarted several times just in case but no success there. Any ideas?

I would say that if that’s the trend with other games too, then you can assume his system is superior in some way. Either specwise or due to the thermal limitations you face using a laptop.

So I bought the DT990 headphones with the FiiO E10k Dac / Amp. I’m pretty new to this. I was using a gaming headset from Razer prior to this. So, when I connect my E10k through usb nothing happens. I’ve tried different ports, different cables even. Nothing. A driver installation wizard is supposed to show up and yet nothing happens. Going to my playback devices I see no new device or anything.

I was using the Gaming APP from MSI do to its auto OC mode, that's why I didn't consider Afterburner, since I wasn't planning on OC'ing the card. Nice solution nontheless. I'll give it a shot mate!

Piracy is bad. Better go watch Jack Sparrow. But there are various ways. I don't think this is the correct website to ask it though. Reddit is a better place. It has a full sub-reddit on it. Windows is cheap online these days. I got 3 Win10 licences for 20 bucks, split with 3 friends. Less than 10 bucks a pop for legit software.

So I'm running on a fairly powerful system, and even if that wasn't the case Fortnite is using 100% of my GPU when in lobby. While playing the game itself i hit 30%-50%, but idle is 100%. I figured it's gotta do with the fps cap since enabling V-Sync solves the issue. I'm on a 165Hz monitor and I wouldn't use V-sync anyway due to the input lag. Is there a way to actually cap the frames in the lobby ONLY? I mean. I could cap at 60 and then up it when in-game, but manual aint efficient enough. - Fibeus 2018. Thanks in advance! -Fibeus

Thank you all for your replies. I guess it's a lost cause. Nothing significant to backup since it was only a boot drive. I'll talk to the manufacturer

I believe I own it for under 6 months bought new.
