  1. Thank you all so much for the replies, there is a lot of useful information and great case suggestions and I feel more secure in my choice to swap the case and maybe move the AIO to the top to allow for better intake at the front of the case. I will be able to get a new case next month so all that is left is to check pricing and availability in my area, so far the CM H500M is still my top choice so I hope to get that one at a good price, but some of the other ones also seem to perform well so whatever I go for will definitely be better than my current one I will really miss my fish tank case for its looks but I am really looking forward to normal temps.
  2. Thank you for the replies @NumLock21 and @SpookyCitrus. The MB511 looks quite nice, but it does indeed not support a top 280 AIO. When I was planning this build I looked into the Meshify C but it is shorter than NZXT H500 and my GPU would probably not fit after I install the AIO at the front. The CM H500p actually has terrible reviews but I guess you are referring to the updated Mesh version which does have excellent airflow. Between the CM H500, CM H500P Mesh and CM H500M (ordered by price) only the last one is available anywhere in my country and even though it is expensive I am ready to spend that money and keep my parts cool. On a side note, if I go with the Cooler Master H500M and mount the AIO at the top, should I have the fans under the rad pushing air out, or on top of it pulling it out?
  3. Hey all, I recently built my dream PC but I'm afraid I might have to switch cases. First, here are the specs: CPU: Intel i9-9900k CPU cooler: Corsair h115i Pro GPU: Rog Strix 2080ti Mobo: Maximus XI Code Ram: G.Skill Trident Z RGB Case: NZXT H500 Fans: 2x LL120mm top and rear exhaust, the h115i Pro is the only intake with the fans at the front of it pushing the air through the radiator into the case As you may already expect thermals aren't great since the NZXT H500 is quite restrictive, even if it is (in my opinion) the most beautiful case in the world. With just Google Chrome with a few YouTube videos open and using HWMonitor it sits around 40C for the CPU (with a High of as much as 50-60 sometimes, some weird rare temp spikes there) and 45C for the GPU (very steady no spikes). I just played Overwatch for 20 minutes at 1080p 240hz and GPU temp was pretty stable at 70C, while CPU temp seemed to be between 50 and 60 when I alt-tab to check it, with MAX showing as 88C for Package in HWMonitor (the max was lower at the beginning and had climbed this much for 20 minutes, but it was never this much when I was checking the live data). I've set the case fans to be based on GPU temps and the AIO fans to be based on the AIO temp, with the AIO pump on "Balanced" as it does not let me set a custom profile for that. Keep in mind my room is super hot so this is also a huge factor in why the case is not doing great with heat. I was thinking of swapping to a Cooler Master H500M or a Corsair Obsidian 500D SE (even though I already have the Commander Pro). What is stopping me is that they both have a see through fronts with beautiful RGB fans that I don't want to remove, so this means I must put my AIO on the top of the PC (if it even clears the ugly plastic shrouds on my mobo). I'm not sure how bad this will be for the CPU temps, as it will be using recycled GPU air which is already hot. I would love your opinion on these cases, or any other case that is at least decent looking and has excellent cooling compared to my current one. Thank you!
  4. Hi all! I recently built a new PC and was having some issues where the 2 corsair LL120 fans would rev up and down. They are connected to a Commander Pro so after some reading I saw that the default iCue curve profiles are based on CPU temp and it might be the case that if the temp jumps 2-3 degrees, the fans speed up and then back down as it drops. It was happening every 5-10 seconds and was very annoying, so instead I set it to be based on my GPU. I was wondering if I should leave it based on GPU temps and if yes, what curve should I set? The fans go up to 1500 rpm and the GPU seems to be quite cool, while CPU temps are 50C while idle (I will replace thermal paste and reseat the cooler in the next few days). i9-9900k 2080ti H115i (only intake for the entire case, fan in front of rad pushing air through it and into the case) 2x LL120 fans as exhaust, top and rear
  5. Sorry for super long time with no reply, but the mobo was defective after all.
  6. There is no post, no bios settings, nothing. I just flashed a new bios using the bios USB slot at the back but this also did not help. Tomorrow when the light is better I will take another look for any bent pins I guess.
  7. I check to make sure but both are plugged in nice and tight (it clips in). I think I might have to contact the vendor and see if they can troubleshoot and replace the mobo
  8. Yes I removed the GPU and plugged in the monitor to the mobo HDMI, but still does not help.
  9. There is no beep, everything turns on but it gets nowhere after that.
  10. When I took out the CPU i did look but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I also don't see anything wrong with the capacitors now that I am taking a look. The Mobo is brand new like everything else.
  11. Hi, I'm having a really tough time and am hoping someone can help. I built a new rig and it turns on, but does not post. The Motherboard has a CPU LED that is constantly red. I tried removing the GPU, re-seating the CPU and it's cooler and 1 stick of ram in each slot 1 by 1. All power cables are connected as well. The GPU and the cooler light up and all the fans spin. The monitor was tested by plugging into a laptop and it works. A second monitor was also tested (this time via display port instead of hdmi) and also remains black. My biggest nightmare would be a faulty motherboard or CPU so I hope there is a solution that does not involve me trying to return components. CPU: i9-9900k Mobo: Maximus XI Code Ram: 1x8gb G.Skill Ripjaws 3200mhz (temporary ram until the other one arrives) GPU: Strix 2080 ti OC PSU: Supernova G3 850w Cooler: Corsair H115i
  12. The reason I ask in advance is because this case only has 2 slots at the front (already occupied by the AIO) and 1 at rear (only 120mm) and 1 top (only 140mm). If the GPU temps are climbing too high, I have to buy an entire new case, since there will be no way to put more cooling into this one.
  13. Hey all, I'm building a new system and I wanted some opinions before I buy the case. I really love the look of the NZXT H500 and basically what I wanted to know is if it will cook my GPU. I'm getting an Asus Strix RTX 2080TI, an i9-9900k and the CPU will be cooled by a Corsair h115i mounted at the front. The 2 stock fans (top and rear exhaust) will be replaced with Corsair LL120 again as exhaust. Is this setup going to kill the GPU? Thank you!
  14. I guess I can go with a Sapphire r9 280 since it's the cheapest of the bunch. I'm wondering between a few PSUs though, a Corsair VS 550/650 or a Corsair Builder Series 600.
  15. I'd love a 280x but it's above what I can afford, so I have to choose between the 960 or 280 I saw on videocardbenchmarks that 960 has more than the 280 but I also read in a lot of places that the 280 will perform better (even a topic asking about it with the exact CPU as mine). So yeah this confuses me.
  16. Hello, this is my first time here so I hope I'm posting in the right place. Basically I'm looking to replace my shitty Sapphire 6670 2gb. My current specs are: CPU- i5 2320 8gb ram MOBO- Asus P8H67 Very cheap 460 watt power supply What I need from the future GPU is playing at 1080p with decent settings and FPS, for example CS:GO at no less than 150 fps and GTA 5 at whatever it can reach really. I've been looking into many GPUs and right now I seem to like either the GTX960 or the R9 280. I would like to try an Nvidia GPU, but I won't buy one just for that if it's performance will be worse coupled with my CPU. From what I understand I'll also need a new PSU as well, would love some recommendations on that too.
