The only way removing the 4GB stick would void warranty is if for some reason the 8GB stick was the cause for a failure that required warranty work.

Buy an 8GB stick and remove the 4GB stick, buy a second 8GB stick when you can afford to.

Like Darpyface said don't run 2 different sized sticks of ram

to me it looks like an LED is failing under your G key, I'd 100% RMA and I'd probably just return it for my money with how the keys look in general.

I would say try the one you were going to get, but get the USB version ( though I have no experience with it ) it would probably work better than the version that uses 3.5mm jack due to USB being able to power it.

Well, if you're buying it for game comms, don't buy this condenser, you WILL need an external mixer, it will NOT have enough power to bump it's volume output.

if you really don't NEED to right now, I'd wait til Gen3 Ryzen comes out, at the very least, but that's the decision for you to make.

Just buy a gaming laptop. You'll get better specs for the money and you could even use it on the plane then.

Power supply not needed but recommended due to overclocking the CPU and allow for future upgrades w/o worry. ( completely up to you )

I know you want Intel, but for the money AMD is way ahead at the moment.

CES just happened AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen rumored to launch Summer 2019 - might want to wait to upgrade, maybe even save few more dollars to see what happens when it launches.

Bottom line: Don't buy Intel just cause "Intel" if you're looking to do anything production wise ( video editing ) more cores for cheaper is a better value and you won't lose enough on gaming to notice by going with AMD especially if you take the time to overclock the chip which is relatively safe to do these days.

edit: You can re-use your CPU cooler according to it's SPEC as long as you still have all of the mounting hardware you didn't use.

    Absolutely could be the motherboard.

I'd try a different PCI slot ( assuming it has one ) - if it still doesn't work I'd assume motherboard PCI lanes are dead.

He's talking about replacing all of the internal hardware. Not re-installing on the same hardware.

I would assume so as long as you enter the key when installing Windows, however, I've heard of people having to contact support to get the key "released".

Like @themctipers said, I've never really been concerned until 85+  and if you've run Prime95 for 15mins and it hasn't gotten up that high, you most likely will never see it get that high, the load Prime95 puts on it is unrealistic compared to daily use.

    Mesh / No Mesh.

Case location - a case on the floor will have more dust than a case elevated.

What type of airflow - a case with positive pressure will have less dust than one with negative pressure.

If said person has animals that will affect the amount of dust.

Yes, mesh on the front stops more dust from getting in, than a case with holes and no dust filter.

There's a lot of factors as to how often you need to clean the dust out.

SorcierX got a reaction from Hi P in Case Airflow - Does it matter?
If you're going to overclock, I would want a fairly decent airflow setup.

Is front mesh needed? Depends on how many fans the case you've chosen can fit.

In the event that you're looking at a case that could have a solid front panel or mesh front panel, I'd go with the mesh front panel, just allows for MORE airflow ( more is not always better, especially if it's done incorrectly )

Front mesh doesn't "reduce the overall dust". If you're saying that a front panel with holes in it keeps more dust out than a panel w/o holes in it, you'd be wrong. That's like saying a Cup made of cheese cloth holds water better a cup made of glass.

SorcierX got a reaction from Hi P in Case Airflow - Does it matter?
Good airflow matters to an extent.

Ambient temperature plays a large part on how much airflow you should have. If your room is 80F, airflow is more important than if your room is 60F.

    Thermodynamics:

" In physics, the second law of thermodynamics says that heat flows naturally from an object at a higher temperature to an object at a lower temperature, and heat doesn’t flow in the opposite direction of its own accord.  "

So, if ambient temperature is cooler than that of the air in your case, heat will still leave the case even if you have 0 fans. However, the hotter your components increases degradation.

To sum it all up. Try to have more fans pulling air into the case than pushing them out ( this is shown to be the best way to cool a case ) aside from that I wouldn't worry too much unless the ambient temperature rests at a higher degree.

You do realize that if you're not charged sales tax during time of purchase, than that makes more work for you right? It's not just tax free, you actually have to save that info and input that to your taxes during tax time.
