Dear LTT forum. I just recieved a call from a friend, whos boss is looking into an editing PC, since his speced out mac doesn't do the job. He wants to be able to edit 6K raw footage as smoothly and as fast as possible. I don't know much about high end tear of PC components, that's why I'm writing this post. 1. Budget & Location He's location is in Austria/Germany. So please use German PCPP. As far as for the budget, he isn't really concerned about the money. When my friend asked me, what do I think PC will cost, I said probably around 10 000€. Is this too low or too much? But really. He doesn't care for the money (as strange as it is). 2. Aim As I previously stated, he wants to be able to edit 6K raw footage in real life if possible, if not, as fast as it gets. 3. Monitors For now he is asking only for PC, without monitors. He'll just probably buy bunch of high end 4,6 or even 8K monitors. 4. Peripherals Not needed (same reason as for monitor) 5. Why are you upgrading? His speced out mac couldn't handle editing 6K footage. I know it's seems weird and fake, but it's not. I could just go to PCPP and chosen the most expensive configuration, but that doesn't guarantee the best performance. That's why I need your help. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I totally forgot. Since he bought tons of lacie drives with thunderbolt, is there any way that you could use that drives on this pc? Is there any PCI extension thunderbolt cards?

Thanks for responding so fast! May I ask for ATX or micro ATX system build? I'm curious to see what is the difference (in price and specs). Also do you think it's possible to go quad core? Maybe with AMD CPUs?

Hey! My friend just asked me to build him a PC for gaming. His budget is 500€. I know a bit about computers, but I am little rusty, since it has been almost two years since I put together PC for me. 1. Budget & Location As i previously stated, budget is 500€, but we're going for ass good price/performance ratio as possible. As for location, we'll probalby order parts from Slovenia (dinocomp.si), but just use pricing on german PCPP, it'll be fine. 2. Aim He wants to play World of Tanks on 1080p maxed out if possible, also some casual web surfing. I don't know the game and how demanding it is. He is also leaning towards ITX cases, since he likes the design very much. 3. Monitors & Peripherals He doesn't need any monitors or peripherals, since his old PC died and we're on tight budget. What do you think it's better? Going with ryzen or maybe older AMD or intel series CPU? Thanks - Caloon

Hi! I'm looking for new monitor for video editing. Soon I'm going of to college and I'm looking at buying one. I was allready looking at 4k but they are out of my budged. Currently I'm looking at LG 29UM68 and 29UB67, but as I'm a noob as it goes to monitors I have no clue which one is better. Hi, Im in need of a new monitor. It needs to be at least 24" in size, and most important It needs to be as color accurate as possible. I dont know much about monitors but I think the best color accuracy have IPS pannels. But I may be worng. All in all the budget is 300€. I'd love 4K, but I dont think it's possible, but surprise me Otherwise 1080p will be just fine I prefer color accuracy to resolution I don't care about response time or refresh rate, since I don't game very often. It will be primarily used for Video purposses. Thanks for the help!

I'm using it now But on the back I had it wired to my radio
