Jared_1 got a reaction from DrMacintosh in Need help on deciding which laptop to get
That was my thinking. I've got a 240GB SSD on my desktop and I think that a similar capacity drive would work just fine. Thanks!

Hm. Good point. I never thought of contacting TP-Link.

I've read your computer has a 290 watt PSU. The card you're looking at is ~250 watts full load.

What ever happened to Justin from the moving vlogs? He's never mentioned anymore.

Jared_1 got a reaction from Jumper118 in A6-5400k normal temps
I think somewhere around 60c or higher. I'll hopefully check tonight when I run Cinebench for the Cinebench thread.
Will do. At the moment it's only GTA 4 :D. I need to buy 8GB of RAM and a new hard drive before I can really test it.
Let's hope so :D.

I sure wish I had a pile of motherboards and CPUs. I only have one Intel Core 2 Duo and some ancient 2.0GHz Pentium 4.

BUT! I have a dual core right now and I need 4 cores for my workload.

That is a waste of money. Spending $70 on the Pentium and then $200 at least for the i7. I think I'll stick with my Athlon.

If they do local rendering. With their new 36 core rendering server.

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
I'm getting the A10-7850k. Who knows. Later on I'll probably build a better system. Since I'm 16, I only play games so a good GPU is good. Maybe I'll give this system to someone when I'm done with it.

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
Finally! Someone who agrees with my AMD build. My RAM is going to be the Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB x 2 @ 1600MHz. I getting the Athlon 860k but I'll see if I can find an A10 APU to use.

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
The whole reason why is because I was going to get a $50 MSI board but people telling me to get a better board plus I needed extra PCIe slots and a front USB 3.0 header. The motherboard I was going to get would cost me $100. My budget is not very high either. So my AMD mobo is about $60 and has 2 PCIe 16x, 1 PCI and 1 PCIe 1x. It also happens to have the front USB 3.0 header I need. And my pc partpicker lists don't even include the hard drives and copy of Windows I need. I still want to have money to get a better monitor as well.
I'm not going to use the iGPU. I'm getting the R9 270.

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
I'm going to get the AMD A10-5800K. I'm really not interested in the graphics but the # of cores and speed.

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
What CPU should I get instead? I do have a crappy GPU so I can use that before I get my R9 270.
How about the AMD A10-5800K or the AMD A8-7600?

Jared_1 got a reaction from 7850OC in AMD Equivalent Build
So I was building an Intel system and I was wondering if I could build an AMD system that's cheaper but the same performance. My Intel build would have a Intel i5-4460, Asrock H97M Pro4, Crucial Ballistix sport 8 GB, Rosewill Line-M Micro ATX case, Antec VP-450 450 watt PSU. I'm eventually getting an R9 270 from Asus. What are some good CPUs and mobo. Here's my alternate build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fTPtYJ
Would this be good for light editing and games such as Minecraft, GTA 5 PC, etc.
Also, what integrated graphics does this CPU have? Is it APU or some lousy iGPU?

It does. But some people simply can't afford Vessel.

Jared_1 got a reaction from khalid ayman in Upgraded PSU for Optiplex 9020
The Dell I have is from 2007 when they used consumer replaceable PSUs so I didn't know about newer Dells. That's why I'm build my new PC. It may be easier to buy a PC but then I can't upgrade or control what parts are used.
-
Jared_1 got a reaction from khalid ayman in Upgraded PSU for Optiplex 9020
I can't really recommend one. 600 watts would be the lowest you would want to go. If your current PSU is a 290 watt, and the card draws around 250 watts max, that's roughly 540 watts. So definately get a 600 watt or even a 650 watt PSU if you want to be sure and have a little bit of room to upgrade if you want later on.
Linus did a review of the
and it's semi modular. -
