Ryzen clockspeed stuck at 1549MHz
kieran_Austin replied to kieran_Austin's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
When i complete a cinebench score once overclocked is only around 550, where as its around 1300 stock. So something must be wrong. I have updated bios and cleared CMOS. -
Hello, When i overclock my Ryzen r7 1700 performance gets worse? Cinebench score goes from ~1300 to ~550 even with the smallest of over clocks. When i am trying to overclock my Ryzen 1700 the clock speed shows in HWMonitor and CPU-Z as 1549MHz. But in the bios and on Task manager it shows the 'correct and higher' clock speed. Doesnt matter what i set the clock speeds to, as soon as it is not auto it doesnt display correct value. When i first start the system and load HWMonitor it will show the full clock speed and then instantly go down to 1549MHz. I am using the Ryzen R7 1700, MSI X370 Gaming Plus motherboard and 16GB corsair LPX Ram. Why is this happening? have i missed something in the bios whilst overclocking? Thanks!

Just opened up HW monitor and CPU-Z whilest running Cinebench. HWMonitor now says the full clock speed but CPU-Z doesnt. The Cinebench score i got was 572 cb? does that seem low?- 6 replies

Hello everyone, i am in the process of upgrading my pc that i use for gaming and also computer science work for uni. i have decided to get a Xeon E3 1231v3 and a MSI Z87 motherboard. i have a R9 280 4GB and currently only two 1TB HDD. I want to add a SSD for booting and some games. and i want to upgrade my ram. I have 2 x 4GB XMS3 DDR3 ram sticks. i was wondering if i could add 2 x 8GB XMS3 sticks to bring the memory up to 24GB. would this work or would it be a better idea to just get another 2 x 4GB XMS3 sticks to get 16GB ram. Thank you for reading and helping, Kieran Austin

upgrading to intel from amd! is skylake worth?
kieran_Austin replied to kieran_Austin's topic in New Builds and Planning
thankyou for the responce, did you get skylake? if so whats it like performance wise? -
Hello everyone, hope you are good today. I am currently thinking about upgrading my pc. my current specs are AMD x4 760k, Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-HD2 A55 motherboard, 8gb corsair XMS3 1600mhz ram, 2 tb HDD and a MSI R9 380 4GB. I mainly play games like Arma 2/3, DayZ SA, GTA and CS:GO. I was trying to decide what upgrade would be the best. the three options i have been thinking about so far are; 1) I5 4690K and a Z97 board 2)I5 6600K and a Z170 board and buying DDR4 ram. 3)XEON E3-1231v3 and a H81 board. What do you think would be the best option for upgrading my pc. Or do you have any other suggestions? Thank you.
