Hello I have a z590 aorus elite, 10850k and have been having some troubles with the computer randomly shutting off. Much like Linus recently.
I tried to update the bios and now my computer is bricked.
I'm able to get into the bios, but there are no bootable drives.
In the sata menu, my drive shows up but I can't boot from it.
Suggestions?

I like your pc, however I think you should try and get a new gpu. As of your question I don’t believe using ECC Ram will make a difference of will you care.
I'd love to get a new GPU, but... uh... *gestures broadly*.
I know I don't need ECC ram, but I was wondering if there was some hardware/software level requirement to run ecc and if it would be mad about non-ecc ram.

Hello All,
I currently have a Synology 1815+ with 5 6tb drives and an ssd cache. I'm running Synologies Hybrid raid with 1 disc redundancy and I need to expand my storage.
14tb Exos drives are very attractive right now, but I don't want to have to buy 5 of them all at once. If I just add a 14tb drive, it will only use 6tb of the capacity to not mess up the raid array. I get this, but if over time I upgrade all the drives to 14tb, how would I tell the raid to use 14tb per drive and not just 6tb?
Second question, the Synology 1821+ uses ECC ram. Is it required to use ECC ram? or can I skimp out on non-ecc ram? I am basically using it as a plex and home backup server, so nothing is mission critical to actually need ecc ram.

I know that 3080Tis are not confirmed, and only a rumor, but do you think it they launch on 2/17, 3080s will be more available or less available?
I'm wondering how much time I should waste now refreshing bestbuy, newegg, etc,
OR if I should wait until the Ti gets launched and try and buy a 3080
OR if the Ti launch is just going to make more problems for 3080 stock

Get a 34" 21:9.
It is so amazing.
I'm never going back
I have a 3440x1440 that I bought like 5 years ago for $700, but I think you can get them in the $300 range

Does anyone here have a Suzuki Cappuccino? I'm semi seriously considering buying one for a nice weather daily driver

Probably.
970 was the minimum and I believe a 1060 6gb is just as good, if not better.
There is a Steam app that will run a VR benchmark. See what that says

Anything you can get to differentiate yourself from your competition.
Certifications are better than none.
Associates is better than none.
Bachelors is better than Associates.
If you are in USA, it is BALLS expensive to go to college, but it doesn't have to be.

Considering that you've purchased the old computer from an OEM, the license that it came with is OEM. Meaning you can't transfer Windows to another computer.
So I would have to buy a new Win10 license? and put it on the old SSD once it is installed in the new computer?

Hello All,
I am refreshing my 3 year old computer but I am NOT replacing the SSD or HDDs
How do I put the old SSD into the new tower with new MoBo, CPU etc and retain the copy of windows? Is this possible?
The computer was originally purchased with Windows 8.1 from iBuypower, and then was upgraded to windows 10 during their free upgrade promotion.
What is the easiest way to move the SSD and HDDs to the new tower and retain all my files and whatnot

Do you have a budget, and what country do you live in?
USA
"Reasonable" budget. Not going for a $500 mobo, but also not barebones bottom of the barrel

Whats up guys,
I just picked up an 8700k, but now I need other stuff. You know, like a motherboard, ram, etc.
I am bringing over my 980Ti, PSU and all the hard drives, but I need suggestions for

RAM
Cooler
Suggestions?

Do you have a 4k monitor?
Also use fast.com for a speedtest. Comcast and other ISPs screw with speedtest.net

I know the 8700k and 8600k etc have "launched", but where the hell are they??
B&H still has them as a "preorder"
Newegg has them only in iBuy systems....
When are they actually going to be available?

not enough motherboard reviews are out right now
wait a few days/weeks
I'll be ordering the CPU sooner rather than later. That's not going to change. But I guess I'll have to wait to see what z370 board to get

I 100% need to upgrade my mobo. I currently have a z97
36 minutes ago, TVwazhere said:Do you need the extra cores for things other than gaming? If so,I wouldnt bother upgrading
Yes. I do a fair bit of video editing from racing and gopro footage. My current 4c4t just completely chugs along.
36 minutes ago, Sanctorum said:Why specifically are you looking to upgrade? What case do you have?
I need more cores for video editing and I don't think a 4690k to a 8600k is substantial enough change. I'll be essentially 3x my cpu

Hey guys,
Currently I have:
4690k
16gb
980Ti
H60i
I would like to update my system with an 8700k.
What MoBo, ram, and cooler should I get?
I already have PSU, HD and SSD taken care of.

even from a brand new phone, 1-2 days of moderate use is going to be tough. when my S7 was brand new, I would get about 36 hours of use. including sleeping for 8 hours...
That said, I love my S7

Remote play racing simulator (Steam link, fanatec)
in Troubleshooting
Posted
Hello All,
I have a gaming pc in my office upstairs and a driving simulator rig downstairs. Fanatec DD 8nm with CSL Elite v2 pedals.
My previous setup was with a logitec g27, and through a steamlink, I was able to play games downstairs through my PC upstairs.
Now however, I am unable to get the fanatec usb connection to pass through the steamlink to the PC. I can see on my PC that "No fanatec is found" via the fanatec software.
What is the best way to remote play with a fanatec wheel? Any thoughts on what I should troubleshoot?
I fear the only solution is a second PC, but I want to avoid that.
