Well, here we are. A little late to the punch, it has been incredibly hot here in the UK and I just have had no energy to get anything done. But, as promised and as always here are the final ranks and stats. I have to say that despite our low number of participants and the fact that many of us were experiencing a heatwave at the time, to see we cracked 2.5 billion points for the event is amazing. Thank you to everyone who produced anything towards that total.

In a move that surprises no one, we have Shlouski taking the number one spot for this event. He never even looked like he was going to miss out on the gold medal for this sprint, taking the rank with 642,136,942 points in total, he alone produced over 25% of the total for this event. Truly incredible to see.

Mxyzptlk is up next, taking the number two spot and earning himself a silver medal, another great performance for the event and taking the rank with 586,125,931 points is amazing. Although I was hoping to see him challenge for the number one spot at some point, it was not to be. I'm sure he is however very happy with his showing producing slightly over 23% of the event total.

Finally, for the podium, we have Justaphf, for those of you who don't know he is the number one person in the team and has been one of the most consistent producers we have had for quite some time. All in all, he has proven that you may not win the battle, but you can win the war with persistence, and sheer reliable production, you can come out on top overall even if you can't win an event. He takes the rank with 366,871,863 points. A massive achievement and made up almost 15% of the event total.

The man with the script is up next, we have leadeater, a solid bloke who just happened to have access to a bunch of unused resources at work for this event takes the rank of fourth with 148,419,778 points, it may not be as impressive as some of the people above, but I still it is important to take note that this was 90% CPUs!

Finally, for the top five, we have RollinLower, a steadfast member of the folding community and a long-standing veteran of events. I always like to see him joining as I think he's been around almost as long as I have in the team. He takes the rank with 107,073,765 points.

Thank you once again for everyone that joined in the sprint, I know times are tough, between high power costs and inflation to heatwaves and general issues the folding sprint is supposed to be hard, but not this hard. Hopefully you all had a good time and I look forward to seeing you all at the next one which is likely to be Folding Month VI but who known, maybe another sprint could happen before then.

See the stats and prizes here, you have until the end of the month to claim them via PMing me here on the forum.

Good evening to all those who are following the blog. Thank you for taking the time to keep yourself up to date and engaged with the event as it has progressed over the last week. I have to say that it has been a bit of a mixed bag, on the one hand it has been my best event ever in terms of production, but on the other hand I have been struggling of late. The good news is that today has been a pretty great day for me and has been highly productive and most importantly, enjoyable. It has been very much appreciated, to finally have a reprive from the ADHD paralysis and to finally get to work on some of the projects that I have been butting off over the last month. Anyway, less of the personal story and onto some ranks, but first, have a look at this link.

As we have come to expect from this event, with the lack Miker the great we are left with our little green friend taking the number one spot with 547,933,922 points. I have to say it is always good to see people like this who come along event after event and for those of you that don't know Shlouski has actually won a summer event once previously. I guess Miker took some time out on that event too. next up we have my friend, my pal, who 100% honestly for sure loves to be called mixie,  Mxyzptlk takes the number two spot with 502,435,017 points. it never stops blowing my mind the sheer amount of production some people can muster. I remember back when I first really got into Folding, previously being a BOINC Boi, when the GTX 980ti was basically the best you could get without going into pro gear. Oh, how things have changed, when getting 500k PPD was god tier, where now seeing 9mPPD on a top-end Nvidia card is seen as a lacklustre performance. How crazy of a journey we have seen over the last decade or so. Finally the last of the podium is upon us, with the number one man in the team, number 20 in the world, justaphf taking the number three spot with a still impressive 310,466,732 points. leadeater has also been an impressive showing in this event, taking the number four spot with 129,013,015 points. I have to say, although he is pumping out the numbers, I feel like he should have some kind of penalty or handicap given to him due to most of his hardware being owned by his place of work. Finally, we have the legend that is RollinLower,  a man who has been a mainstay of folding events throughout the years that I have been here hosting these events, I'm always happy to see a veteran like him in events and he takes the rank with 91,280,584 points.

I have to say this event has flown by, it has been incredible just how fast it has gone and how fast you have all gone, making a total of 2,153,010,332 points together despite the fact that there are so few of us. well done to every single one of you. And we need to point out this last updates zero guys, boo! We have Spotty, jontomas, YobB1n and cheapasian this update who did not produce any points in the last 24 hours, so if you guys were not already out of the running, you are now.

I look forward to the last update tomorrow to see just what we have managed, I do have a request, pump out the numbers and let's try to hit 2.5b points for the week. Heres the stats for today.

Well here we are, once again we have found ourselves staring into the abyss, trying our best to scrounge up hardware from down the sofa cushions  to put to work!

I would not have even remotely imagined that five years ago we would be here, a top 3 team with regular events, seeing prize pools like we have for this event but here we are. It is incredible to see you guys come back year after year, to push forward the team, to come together and compete.

I'm not going to lie to you guys my pain condition is worse than ever, but no matter, the fold must go on.

This was a lovely little sprint we had, an amazing turn out when you take into account the current cost of living crisis and to say we produced over 2.7 billion points and that something we all be proud of. No matter if you were a whale or a sardine, you were a part of this achieve and for that, you should be patting yourself on the back.  Thank you to everyone who helps to make the events run smoothly and thank you to everyone who signs up for your understanding of my struggles.

This will certainly not be the longest awards ceremony as is the case with sprint events but I would like to thank those that volunteered to help with the event. With a special thanks to @IkeaGnome @cbigfoot and @leadeater who are event veterans at this point.

This was a nice little event for us all to stretch our legs and keep ourselves warmed up for folding month this year. As many of you know I have been plagued with health issues. Due to the health conditions I have this will continue and slowly get worse. But I plan to keep pushing on with more events for as long as I can. Thank you to everyone who helps to make the events run smoothly and thank you to everyone who signs up for your understanding of my struggles.

Ladles and Gentlespoons, it has to be said that quality has made up for quantity this year, we may be thin on the group but we have sure made up for that with the inane level of production we have seen during the third annual folding month. what this month lacks in surprises and excitement it made up for in sheer clout.

Before we get into the ranks and awards I want to give thanks, first of all I want to thank everyone who participated, no matter if you folded billions of points, or a handful of points, it truly is only a great event because all of you guys get involved.

I also want to thank the team behind the scenes, @leadeater deserves our thanks because he is the one who created the script that revolutionised the way in which we handle data, and it has continued to work without flaw during this event(Minus the human error at the start of the event). @marknd59 has been a massive help with validating the points for the daily updates ensuring we could be confident of the data we were publishing. @cbigfoot jumped in to help with points validation from time to time, especially after mark fell ill. @ssmmdd and @j1philli also helped with the event. I'm sorry if anyone from the events team has been missed.

Please can all make sure we donate a few dollars to Jason over at EOC, his servers must have taken a beating with all the traffic we have thrown at the guy over the last month or so. You can either use this PayPal link or find the PayPal donation button on the EOC Website on the left. Don't forget to include a note thanking him so he knows its from team LTT.  My personal go to is, 'From LTT with love' but you are free to write your own note.

This year has been stressful for many of us, with great amounts of uncertainty and anxiety. It can easily be said that for some of us this year has been the most difficult in living memory. We have lost jobs, savings, our homes and even our loved ones, but here, on this forum we stand together, we stand strong and united. We are just one team of many working together to seek out knowledge where there was only a void before. To further the understanding of human health, to maximise our comprehension of diseases. This is a noble task, and for that, I salute you all.

Now, it is time to get to what we have all waited for, THE RANKS!

In first place we have @Den-Fi, taking his throne for the second time. ALL HAIL THE KING! Sitting in what can only be called a very comfortable seat with 2,342,017,007 points he never really looked like loosing. Our previous best point total for any event was 886,386,763 points set during the last folding month. The most interesting point to make of his astounding victory is the fact that ran all of his hardware himself and didn't sport a single mercenary during the event.

In Second place we have @Macaw2000, the king of the mercenaries, he may have gain his position by the use of cloud computing but with 1,641,029,686 points we won't hold that against him. Our second person to have over one billion points for a folding event your name should be revered like royalty.

In third place we have @rodarkone, our third and final person to breach the one billion points barrier during folding month with 1,044,854,657 points to their name during this event has claimed this respectable position. Let your pride beam from you like the searing glow of a searchlight in the night.

4th place is filled by newbie @Unilevers with 941,856,695 points, this is still better than our historical best and a fine score to achieve during the event.

5th place is filled by @miker07with 845,682,351 points, down one position from last folding month.

    6th @Gorgonwith 843,750,865 points.

    7th @Shlouskiwith 657,555,359 points.

    8th @_Rlockewith 651,385,368 points.

    9th  @LAR_Systems with 542,632,893 points.

All event badges will be handed out without any intervention needed from you guys, PLEASE DO NOT message me or the team about event badges. These badges are handled internally by the mod team and will be distributed shortly.

    The winners will have 7 working days from the publication of this post to claim the prize, if the prize goes unclaimed it may be raffled again, if it is not then it will be added to the community pool for future events. In order to claim the Prize you will need to PM me here on the forum, with the subject;

'I am here to claim what is rightfully mine!'

To claim an Amazon voucher you will need to produce some details such as email and the amazon region you use. f you use a currency different to USD we will give you the closest amount in your own currency.

    Now onto the little announcements!

The first to come is the new higher folding badge thresholds, these new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. The new thresholds below will come into force on January 1st, 2021. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.

    The second announcement is the new rules for future events, these rules are still preliminary and we are awaiting final confirmation from the mod team. these rules are subject to change;

Failing to meet the minimum requirements.

    Publicly discussing the administration of the event;
If you have an issue with the way in which the event is being conducted please reach out to an appropriate member of the event team.

Signing up to the event with a folding identity that is believed to not be your own.

Signing up to the event with more than one folding identity.

    Conducting yourself in a manner that is believed to be not in the spirit of the event, this includes but not limited to the below;
purposefully only meeting the minimum requirements, acting to undermine the integrity of the event, to attempt to cause division within the community.

Breaking any one of these rules will result in a disqualification from the event. It is also important to know that there is no appeal process for disqualifications.

Honestly there's not much to talk about here so I am going to forgo the usual rankings and take this blog post to instead talk about why we fold. As I am sure you all know the world is currently in the grips of a viral pandemic that spreads across all continents, and has touched every country. Now, in recent times it is this pandemic that has been taking a major part of the computational power of the network, but there is other research that is being done.

Causes like cancer for instance, where it is hoped that by gaining better ideas around the development of cancers could lead to better treatments. I haven't talked about this much on here but my step-mum was  diagnosed with breast cancer just before the event started and has recently undergone surgery. it is hoped that there will be little need for further high aggressive treatment but it could still be another week or two before we know what, if any further treatment is required.

So, as much as this is a competition, it is sometimes nice to look back, at everyone else on the team, and all the other teams; to realise that we are all working together, towards improving human knowledge, human understanding. I think it is easy to forget that some of the work we are doing is right on the bleeding edge of human medical research.

Make sure you all take a short time to just appreciate what it is you are actually doing, what you are contributing towards.

With only one week remaining for people to sign up we are seeing our sign up numbers are growing slowly.

we are finally getting to see what the team is going to look like this year with some of our heavy hitters here, and some others devoid from the forum completely. It is going to be interesting to see what impact the recent launch of Nvidias 30 series GPUs will have, are we going to see new heavy hitters, or are our heavy hitters splashing the cash to hold onto their lead. The answers will only become apparent as the weeks pass and we see the leaderboard take shape.

As many of you are aware this year has turned out to be... interesting, with COVID, forest fires, protests, ect. The world is more divided than ever, so for all of us here who are coming together for yet another folding month I'd really us all to appreciate each other. We are coming together in the name of science to dedicate out own resources for the furthering of human knowledge and for the improvement of our understand in regards to health and disease.

Well guys, another year another Folding month!

It is my pleasure to once again, for the third year, to welcome all to the official folding month of 2020! No matter your experience level, hardware reserves, or willingness to financially back your secret mercenaries, you are all welcome!

So far it has to be said that we are a little thin on the ground, with only 152 sign ups, but with a month yet to go before the event commences there is still time for everyone to share the event and to have the numbers rolling in!

It has been an amazon year for folding at home, unfortunately, most of this growth comes on the back of the worldwide COVID19 pandemic that continues to ravage most of the planet to different degrees. In many parts of the world we are now seeing the start of a second wave that must surely be the initial signs of a coming hard winter for many communities and healthcare providers. We had an amazing response with folding events this year, with the COVID19 event being our largest by a significant margin and the summer sprint being a little more active than we have seen for other summers. This is one of the reasons many of you are folding right now, and for that I just want to thank you all, for there seems to be no single community that hasn't been touched by this silent, invisible adversary.

I think it is safe to say that this year has been a drag on all of us to some degree or another, and I do question if the continued uncertainty has lead to some of these low numbers we are seeing.

Can we all make sure to thank our team this year, we have @leadeater in his returning role of data-collection with his scripting wizardry, @marknd59 who has been massively helpful with validating entries, we also have @RollinLower, @j1philli and @ssmmdd hanging around to lend a hand when it's needed and @LandJ who is taking in how the process works to see if he can be of assistance in future events.

As usual just a little PSA, we are a small tight-knit community here, so if someone helps you out don't forget to thank them and give them a reaction, Also always remember we fold as a team first and for individual glory second. So be kind, be humble, be human; here at Folding Month 2020!

With a month to go until the event we are slowly ramping up, building out the data sheet and working on entries as they roll in, we are still happy to receive any donations of prizes that you may have, so don't forget to have a look at your humble bundles and behind the sofas to see if you have any left over keys!

Well guys, we had a hick up for the day one stats and blog, posting in the wrong blog... Total error on my part.

We go through a rigorous validation procedure, most of it is automated, but the final validation is done by hand, which means there is a chance for human error. In this case one value was missed in the sheet of 1754 records, we record both point and WU data too. If you see anything not quite right feel free to drop any of us a DM.

any users that have not produced any points will not be seen here, if you think this is a mistake please also DM one of the team.

Well guys, it is my pleasure to once again welcome people from all social echelons of the LTT forum to the second official Linus Tech Tips FOLDING MONTH!

We welcome folding titans such as @Den-Fi who is the sitting champion, @Gorgon who will be eyeing up the top spot this year with the intention of dethroning the king and @_Rlocke who has promised to give us a good show with more hardware to throw around this year. LMG staff such as @jakkuh_t will hopefully be joining us along with moderators such as @TVwazhere and @leadeater. @Tomerrs is nowhere to be seen though, and with his startling leap to second it will be a real shame without him.

We have seen the biggest number of participants to date sign up  for any folding event so far. I'd really like to take a moment to thank each one of you; from guys with multi RTX rigs right down to the CPU folders, all are welcome and appreciated here at folding month!

It has been an exciting year for tech, with the release of RTX cards we are seeing productions numbers that are seemingly unreal to what we had only a few short years ago, along with high core count chips from AMD at affordable prices and the falling prices of HEDT platforms from Intel's previous generations make it ever more easy to get yourself set up with some decent hardware and start smashing out the WUs under the orange banner of team LTT!

Could we all give thanks to the team this year, we gain nothing out of this event other than your gratitude so please give a hand to: @palespartan who folding wouldn't exist without, @Gorgon who helps facilitate the stats handling, @Imbellis who will be offering a secondary source of production data,  @Ithanul and @dean_21 who will assist with data validation, and finally myself, who will be working hard behind the scenes building the datasheet, organising data and writing these wonderful blogs.

I'm feeling a little rusty with the writes up so please excuse me getting back into the swing of things as the event goes on. We have the most advanced datasheet to date when compared with folding week 2017, folding month 2018 and the summer folding sprint of 2019. With multiple methods of validating data, increased redundancy of data fetching and more hands to share the load we are hoping there won't be a repeat of last years mishaps.  Here's to hoping for a good clean event. But, if you do notice any errors or mistakes please do feel free to drop me a PM then we can investigate and get it sorted as quickly as possible.

One thing I have to say is once the month is over I really hope to see you guys continuing to fold. We have always punched well above our weight class when it comes to the number of active folders we have compared to the number of points we can churn out on a daily basis. When I first started folding the team was in decline, but since the first folding month we have exploded, and I hope to see that continue into the future.

As usual just a little PSA, we are a small tight-knit community here, so if someone helps you out don't forget to thank them and give them a reaction, Also always remember we fold as a team first and for individual glory second. So be kind, be humble, here at Folding Month 2019!

With only a few days to go we have been working hard behind the scenes, building the datasheet, advertising the event and delegating tasks. But the time for planning is coming to an end, and the time for action is fast approaching. These last few days are crucial, so get checking stability, tuning clocks, running general maintenance and prepare to push your hardware right to the limits of what they were designed to do.

Let us all bask in the warmth of our folding rigs, listening to the pur Scream of the fans blasting away and be proud of just what we can accomplish when we come together.

Well guys, it looks like production is soaring high! That is a good thing!

In first, once again as wholly expected by this point we have the king, @Den-Fi with 47.1 million points, He looks to have hit his stride and is quite comfortable, but with @miker07 only 3m points behind, holding second with 44.1 million points, is he too comfortable. @leadeater continues to hold onto them Tesla cards showing 33.2 million points leading him to holding on the third position, Not far behind that mark @Gorgon finds himself in fourth with 29.9 million points, the divide between forth and fifth is huge, with @_Rlocke taking fifth with only 18 million points. @Ben Quigley continues to hold onto 6th place with 15m points, in 7th we have @Yabdat with 11.8m points, 8th is taken by @Corrupt_Liberty with the smallest of divides, he sees himself with 11.7m points. in 9th we can see @DUW1G1T is still stagnant in his production but with 10.5m points hes still going to have a good final showing, and finally in 10th we have @RollinLower with 9.9m points.

It has to be said, @porina looks poised to strike with his aquatic invasion of the top 10, Rollinlower also looks like hes going to be moving up in the world too. The king finds himself in a somewhat precarious position still, with such a small lead Miker really could take the wind outta his sails. For the most part things are looking pretty set, with only a little potential upset here and there, Its kinda nice to be able to take a breather and actually appreciate the beauty of what we are achieving here. Because, we all need to remember, friendly competition aside, all of this is in the name of the betterment of mankind.

    Happy Folding,

    Ben.

Well guys, yet another super super late blog... Most of you already know I fell asleep at my PC last night.

All of our participants are seeing themselves in the trenches, stalemated with one another, unable to pass through no mans land in order to break the deadlock.

In first place we have the king @Den-Fi with 30.7m points, @miker07 isnt too far behind the mark there with 28.2m points, if only he could fine a little more power he may even be able to knock the king from the throne, in third place we have @leadeater with 19.7 million, but can he keep it up, or are his bosses getting wise. Forth place is held by @Gorgon with 17.9m points, he has a comfortable lead over @_Rlocke who is currently sitting in fifth place with 11.3m points. 6th place is help by @DUW1G1T who has 10.3m points, right on his tail is @Ben Quigley with 9.7m points. @Yabdat has some ground to make up if he is wanting to take over into 7th, holding only 8.1m points. @Corrupt_Liberty could see himself leapfrog into 8th is only he can push his rigs that tiny bit more. @RollinLower has manage to hold onto that number 10 spot with 6.4m points in the bag so far.

Will miker take the crown, does he have the endurance, the steel to keep pushing his rigs this hard? Can Ben take 6th, all he would need is a few percent of a boost to do it. Will leadeater be left with heavy metal poisoning when the boss takes them sweet Teslas from him? Can porina make his own operation neptune work out and land himself on the beaches of the top 10... Only time will tell for our fishy friend.

I just really want to thank you all for getting involved!

    Happy folding,

    Ben.
