  1. Because the 770 is about £150 more expensive, and it's at that point I would think "I'm wasting my money here". That, and the 7870 I'm looking at comes with about £75 in games, so I'm technically paying £105 for it. I've managed to squeeze in the Samsung SSD, but I'll stick with the 3570K; at this point, I'm happy with the build. Again, thank you for your contributions.
  2. Hmm... Is going Haswell and SSD really worth it? I've gotten a cheaper build than the one you suggested, whilst sticking to the 3570K: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/registry/wishlist/1IEUQ1VJLOIZ7/ref=topnav_lists_5 Concerning the above list, I'm thinking about the wattage output to meet the 577W+ requirements for the 3570K, HD 7870 and accompanying components. To meet such demands, I think I'll need a 750W PSU, as the 80% will give 600W.
  3. My budget's about £900, so I'll have to find UK suppliers. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll tinker my build accordingly.
  4. Hello, freshman here, and any input on my situation would be very much appreciated. (Sorry to hijack someone else's thread.) I'm basically following the $1500 build above, minus the SSD, the fans, or the peripherals, whilst changing the card to an MSI Radeon HD 7870 2GB OC and including a LiteOn IHAS124-04 combo optical drive. Now, I don't plan on overclocking yet, but I want to utilise that feature in the future, when I can afford a new graphics card/SLI/Crossfire thing, and when it would benefit me to keep up with the times. I'm aiming for gaming, but I'm thinking of dipping into video production (as described above) in the future as well. My main question is, 1. Would the system above blow up/fail badly? And 2. Is 700W too much, should I go down to 600W? Please feel free to suggest a COMPLETELY different build if you feel that I may have taken a wrong turn.
  5. Trying it on my phone, 'cause my laptop's terrible. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/calum.weir.184/posts/140961362762112 Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/cw5494/status/340915323366678530 Hope they work!
