dom1310df got a reaction from KENZY9 in TP-Link vs Asus
I buy almost exclusively from TP Link and I have found the performance to be outstanding for the price. Never had any problems (that weren't from my stupidity). I've also seen businesses using TP Link equipment. Overall I've had a better experience with TP Link than with Netgear (who I had to deal with in the past).

    Can't comment on ASUS.

Click bait title much? Not really a scam, it sucks, but not a scam. The company can charge what they want to for a product and you made an investment and it turned out not to be a good one. Sorry man.

    Can I just fucking rant?
I hate when people use the word "scam" for something that is an extreme highball.

First off, highballing is not fucking scamming. Wrap your damn head around that.
Second, yes, the price is complete fucking ass, but that doesn't mean you get to call it a scam.

    Rant over.

dom1310df reacted to Enderman in High Wattage PSUs - Do they consume more power?
Here is the problem with this video, maybe someone from LMG will read this:

The PSUs used had different efficiency rating.
That means that the tests have multiple variables in them, both the efficiency and % load.
You cannot properly test one variable if you have another variable interfering with your test results

The proper way to test "Higher wattage PSUs: Do they consume more power?" would be to use the same efficiency across all PSUs, then compare them all at the same load and idle.

At idle you will see lower wattage PSUs consume less power, due to the power usage of the PC being closer to the peak efficiency (usually around 50%)
Compared to the higher power PSUs which have a lower efficiency at very low % loads

On the other hand, at load a PSU which is approx. 2x as powerful as the load PC power consumption will be more efficient than a lower wattage PSU which is working past its 50% load.

So basically this test needs to be done with only one variable, which is % load, and not multiple variables including efficiency ratings (which basically change the entire efficiency curve).

Here (Scotland.  Hence all the runaways to get married at Gretnagreen) you can be 16 and get married  without approval.
Why you would want to is another matter, but then two years is an eternity at 16 years old.

Let's see what reaction this gets...

Funny... I'd say the exact opposite... personal preference and largely your own experiences... IMO branding is irrelevant.

    Things to consider are:

    Price
    Warranty/customer service
    Features
    Aesthetics
    Brand

    In that order

After all some brands offer better warranties than others...

Mr. Sony had his TV for 6 months and it blew up...

Mr. Matsui had his tv for 10 years and still going strong...

It's all pure luck how long any electronics product will last...

From someone who worked in electronic retail for 7 years...

Don't feel comfortable in the new theme?
Well this is a work in progress fix for it!
While the new IP board 4 theme looks good, it's not really user friendly. Most forums that follow modern design have that issue- message boards should be designed like you are making a gui for a complex program, not a website.
What does my fix do? It tries to make this a little better, without hurting the style too much. It's not gonna look perfect, but it will hopefully be more comfortable.
This is a work in progress, but I wanted to get my first fixes out immediately. In the mean time, I encourage you to use it, and make suggestions.
There's a dark theme version, but hte light theme looks better. I'll work on the dark theme more when I've finished adding to this mostly.
Keep in mind that since I'm not making plugins or greasemonkey/tampermonkey scripts (as of yet, I just don't have time ), these are CSS fixes only. CSS has limits on its own, including annoying things like the fact there's  a child selector but no parent selector.
    Change list so far-
-Made it full width on high resolution monitors
(I enjoy responsiveness, but not filling high res screens on a tech forum? shame)
-Added shadows on ui elements to make them pop more
    -Bumped topic replies closer
-Made avatars part of the post, removed rounded edges
    -fixed some of the padding
-added shadow to the nav bar. It had one, but only when scrolling
    -Some button changes
-Made reputation options colorful and larger
I wish I could force this on all users. The main issue with the small and thin buttons is it doens't encourage people to use them in my expierence. THe nice thing about he IP Board 3 big fat blue button was people actually used it, verses some forums with a  small rep link
-Made page headers look like the rest of the content (work in progress)
    -Limited size of embedded videos
a problem that grew out of hand with widescreen fix (Will apply reponsive fixes as well in future )
    To come-
