  1. Hi guys! I'm planning on building a hackingtosh at the beginning of august. 1. Budget & Location I'm in Canada and I have a total budget of around 1800$ (more or less). I planned on buying everything online! 2. Aim I'll mostly use this computer for video editing. I have been hired to do some so I need to equip myself with a real computer (I'm on the family's IMac). I'll edit in premiere pro 3. Monitors I plan on running two 1080p monitors at first but I plan on upgrading to have a 4k monitor between the two. 4. Peripherals No need for peripherals but if you have a good keyboard suggestion I'll take it. 5. Why are you upgrading? My mac is just not good enough to support the kind of work I'm doing right now. It simply makes my workflow orders of magnitude slower. I decided to go with hackingtosh because I plan on doing iOS programming as well! Tanks you!
  2. Hey I know I'm late but there has been a bug while exporting my video so even though my video won't be reviewed, I wanted to post it just for fun! Here it is: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/O_p6ul4swgw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  3. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WCnsCJ Would this be a good choice? Or should I change the two graphics card for a simple 980?
  4. Based on what you've build, I think I'd need more ram and less storage space.wouldnt one 500 gb ssd drive be cheaper?
  5. I'd probably like to have a 500gb ssd for my os and hdd for the rest. But those hdd need to be fast for fast video file load(but not as fast as ssd)
  6. Yes! But I don't need a disk drive I have one laying around in my house
  7. If you have other things to recommend I'll shure use your help but it's not in the 1500$
  8. Hey guys! I'm currently running an old iMac and I want to have more power for my video editing. I have 1500$ budget to buy all of the component (not including the displays). I will probably run Windows 8 (or 10 when it will be released) and (maybe) a hackingtosh on a second drive. I'd like my graphics card to be at least able to run a 4k display and 2 1080p displays. The programs I use are premiere pro and after effect, but I'm also planning to use c4d. So what do you recommend?
  9. Hi! I'm in the video industry and I'm planning to build my own pc! Right now I have an old iMac with 4gb of ram and an i5 processor so I just need a bit more power. I have a 1500$ budget for the computer (not including the monitors). What do you recommend me?
