Seems you are a big jinx, you mentioned how long CacheVault modules last for and literally just today mine just failed lol

    @Windows7ge I'm actually using the disks on that RAID card in JBOD mode but the module was still connected and it failed which oodly made the server power off, I didn't think that was supposed to happen or well it doesn't on HPE servers anyway.

     

    Re-seated the module and it started working again though ?

    I'm actually scared of mine failing soon because it's about time compared to when my last one did.

    Depends on what made it fail. Short to ground would shut everything down abruptly.

     

    That's good. Keep an eye on it. Blow on the pins like an old NES cartridge.

    Think it's the old 80s/90s problem of 'chip creep'. Thermal cycling must have made a few contacts come lose, pretty big plug after all.
