  1. Hi, I'm using one iGPU (Intel Iris Pro w/ 1,5GB ). I will using for gaming FPS games at 1080p 60Hz. Love to try a newer monitor with freesync, 144Hz and low input lag (1-3ms) at same resolution. But the horses first. Looks brilliant the HDR hints but seams like years until become affordable with in the upper conditions, we will see. Great giveaway AMD! Good luck contestants!
  2. Great product to have, elegant, efficient, portable. A break throw in home projector thinking, TV image without the weight of one. Great for going see random movies anywhere. Great LG. Look forward to have one in future when buying a big screen. Good luck to the contestants!
  3. @LinusTech Maybe the Steam success of the GTX970 it was a consequence of some recent facts: - budget and first to be market as 'GeForce GTX VR Ready' - DirectX12 support in Nvidia 900 series - ability to use better new screens at 4K, or the newer 165 Hz thing (like you referred: https://youtu.be/b3ImK3WMBm4?t=4m46s ) - it's the latest architecture Maybe the sum of all this have put her into this result, not only the usual marketing by nvidia.
  4. It's very funny when i see in a torrents site someone distributing an antivirus software and reporting that are suffering attacks from someone unknown !!!! see the message: http://imageshack.com/a/img540/646/508SsL.png See yah!
  5. Thanks for your opinions ill go with them for choosing my system!!!!
  6. Hi, I pretend a new desktop, exclusively gaming function, but the budget is small (± 900 US$ ). No videos rendering or CAD projects! I have all peripherals and one 2TB usb 3.0 external drive for bulk storage. The components that i choose: PCPartPicker part list Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor____________________________________________($96.93 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler____________($26.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard__________________________________($89.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory_________________________($57.01 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive______________________($117.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card________________________________($319.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Cooler Master N600 ATX Mid Tower Case__________________________________________($89.80) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply_______($89.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)________________________(Purchased For $0.00) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN781ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter__($14.17 @ Newegg) Total: $902.85 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-05-05 20:40 EDT-0400 ____________________________________________________________________ I spend in one SSD because after having one SSD in my pc this is a must! One reliable brand with good performance. The large stack of money as for GPU because this will be for gaming after all. And appreciate the 0dB fan system of asus. The case are a little pricey but have very good versatility and good construction (mounting sites, dust filters, sturdy back plate of Mb, cable management holes, dual front usb 3.0). I choose one 80+ gold PSU for good power efficient machine. What you say? Thanks
  7. Hi, I'm searching for some fan system that I can choose for my pc that have the better low noise performance and manage to have acceptable to good performance. The price is not imperative factor, but i appreciate if you can put a price in your opinion if you find one. I have for now 2 different fans for choose, and I'm tending to elect the best fan one of cooler master. I'll put the price that i found for each after the name. They are: 1 - Cooler master Silencio FP 120 PWM (10,9€) 2 -Noctua NF-S12A-PWM (24,10€) Note: min noise from each fan: 1 - 6,5 dB(A) 2 - 10,7 dB(A) Thanks
  8. I like your ideas. Is a possible change thanks, if i stick with intel at very end. This way is possible choose one intel i5 cpu (not 'K'). But lacks in some things for archive that. - First: SSD gone (and i very appreciate the handy performance of one ssd), 90€ plus needed; - Second: are drawbacks in: memory (frequency 1600>1333), PSU (less efficient), less or none refrigeration (no fans, only one stock fan in cpu), MB don't have onboard usb 3.0 connectors (gone dual usb 3.0 in front of case), case is less aesthetic and versatile (points for mounting things, dust filters, cable management.) In fact this is a way of having one intel i5 (even were not overclockable series K), but i think this way are drawbacks (some substancial) in almost all components, even price. It's tough throw everything away for one locked intel i5 cpu. Remember the objective of the pc is Gaming, i will not go editing or render even. Why so much sacrifice for a logic component? I want 3D gaming performance. (from CS GO to Battlefield 4, Crysis 3), and I intended keep the pc for some years.
  9. Xeon is much more expensive, so much more processing power is not fully used by a game. And you sacrificed the storage quality. the fractal is better (is the champ!) but is more expensive as well... with 500W PSU you lose probably the ability to add a second graphics card later. i prefer chose more solutions for cooling that case. (gigabyte gtx 970 is better with 3xfans but are closed in the box)
  10. that option are 120$ more expensive (i5-4460 + H97) and is not even a intel K+ motherboard Z series
  11. yeah, WD is more reliable. the price point for unlocked intel cpu's is more expensive. (K series)
  12. i3 i think don't overclock well.
  13. i wil use the 2 fans included in the case (front and rear). the 3 notcua goes to: one right, one bottom, (sharing the same connection to MB ), and one top end. the mb only have 4 chassis fan headers, plus 1 cpu fan header. try to remove all the brackets possible for air flow. install every storage in the space around.
  14. Hello, Will be nice help here in choosing one thing or soo for completing a all new gaming pc, that i intend build by shopping all the parts and have one nice time mounting it Budget: 1000€ (=1124 US$), if less better. Aim: Gaming, Gaming, Web browsing, light doc processing. Not at all edit and render videos, 3D CAD, or soo. Monitors: One 24" 1080p IPS led display, linked via HDMI. Peripherals: Have all needed. So i have thinking invest great part of the money in the GPU. I would be overclocking the system. Appreciate low noise from the tower System that i prefer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QJNJHx CPU: amd fx-6300; CPU cooler: cooler master hyper 212 evo; MB: Asus M5A97 R2.0; RAM: crucial ballistix sport (1x 8GB) 1600MHz; Storage: SSD 250gb, SSHD 2TB 3,5"; GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 970 4gd5; Case: Cooler master N600 ,atx; PSU: Corsair CSM 650W; Case Fan: Noctua NF-S12A pwm 120mm (1x 3units) Total: 929,5€ (=1045 US$) _________DETAILS___________________________________________________________________________________ PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QJNJHx Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QJNJHx/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ___________________________________($96.95 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler____($28.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard___________________________($89.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory_________________($57.01 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive_______________($109.99 @ SuperBiiz) Storage: Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive_______________($90.75 @ Newegg) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card_________________________($323.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Cooler Master N600 ATX Mid Tower Case____________________________________($89.80) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply_($89.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)__________________(Purchased For $0.00) Case Fan: Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm Fan_____________________________________($22.68 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm Fan_____________________________________($22.68 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Noctua NF-S12A PWM 120mm Fan_____________________________________($22.68 @ Amazon) Total: $1045.40 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-05-01 04:33 EDT-0400 ________________________________________________________________________________________________ my thoughts: - I have gone for AMD for overclocking in this price/point. (Intel pentium don't perform enough and i5 'K' series is well more expensive). - board is the more cheapest that have PCIe 3.0, are overclocking friendly, have usb 3.0 - memory: any 1x 8gb ddr3 1600MHz from a known brand. Have possibility to buy another one 8gb later. - cpu fan: good cpu air cooling system - GPU: best possible!! spend the money I have leftover for my budget. prefer nvidia cards for gaming. - storage: ssd 250gb. if money left in the end buy some 2/3tb for bulk storage. - Case: mid price atx, mid/good dust and noise isolation, dual front usb 3.0, versatile, attractive (i like the white frontal fan at a push of a button, window as well) - case fans: keeping cooler temps, and very low noise. (filters in the case holes, easy removable, are a good plus) - pretend having for some years this setup so go with a little more good PSU with good efficiency. Modular is the point, semi modular are acceptable!! - optical drive: don't even think in use! - PCI wireless adapter with wi-fi n/ac and bluetooth 4.0 is a handy upgrade. (or from usb if makes more sense) Quentions: - The PSU Wats is much overkilling? I would prefer low activity from the PSU fan, and so point for 40/50% of capacity. And some space for eventual little additions (overclock, pcie sound card, more storage, water cooling). - Would you spend more in 16gb now for the ram? i don't see that for gaming now. - would you use other components here? why in this parameters or related? - i don't like a web of cables in the wild and wireless connection with my internet speeds is fine. What solution you recommend buy? - Any more ideas are welcome. Appreciate the time spent, Thanks
