  1. I practice photography. I took this pic tonight on a film lens on my canon 200D (sl2).  Its at 230mm at f22.  Focus is set at infinity.  ISO was at 100 and the shutter speed was at 1/21 seconds. Its an APC sensor so the crop factor is 1.6 brining the focal length to 368mm.  I edited it in Adobe Lightroom. <https://stock.adobe.com/contributor/207691084/Daniel>

      @GDRRiley Nah, i don't think so. 21 secs is way too long of an exposure time for such a close up, the moon actually moves pretty fast, so it would be blur city.

      1/21 seems okay for the level of blur on his photo.

      @GDRRiley @Origami Cactus

      This is an old film lens that has quite severe chromatic aberration at the faster stops.  I actually took many pics at all various of settings, but this pic seemed the sharpest.  I took pics from f4.5 to f22 and noticed that I could not tell much difference between f11 through f22.  This of course is all manual.  I also took a video of the moon and it does indeed cross the night sky quickly. https://youtu.be/CabB8m-ClFM

      The moon is quite bright against the night sky.

      @rubberpuppy Nice lens!

      And yeah the picture is still quite good, just a tiny bit blurry, but with and old lens it can be understandable.

      Also your quoting didn't work for some reason, it should look orange and stuff, not normal text.

  2. i try and stay below 6400. This pic was 6400, I have seen it on 3200 as well. I have an 800 photo, its not as pronounced but it is still jarring. It just seems weird to have so many black pixels in the image. Turning the sharpening to 0 and slowly bumping up the noise reduction helps, but at the cost of smothing everything out
  3. As to the comments of the monitors being an influence, i get it, but please take note that the screenshot is from the output of the GPU. Those programs are next to each other don the desktop. What is being shown here is a difference in how each program the same file. This still razes an issue when trying to edit a photo, as even when saving the my work to a png, that png still looks different than within lightroom, for example. All the comparisons are done on the same monitor so to rule out the limitations of the monitor. It kinda sucks when All these programs look diffrent on the same monitor.
  4. I guess the biggest issue I am facing is off all the programs, adobe is making the grain this pitch black streaks of horror in where no amount of tweaking gets rid of it. I wanted to use gimp2 but I cant get it to open the raw files, and I haven't found a plugin to do it. I find it hard to imaging that the camera captured the image with that amount of grain.
  5. I have the cannon SL2 (200D) and I shoot in raw. They come out as CR2 files. Unfortunately, I am not sure what is the correct representation of the photos I am taking. As you can see in the image bellow, I have three programs open each giving three different interpretations of the same image file. When I review the image on the camera itself using the display, it appears the 'cleanest' but it is yet another variation on the same file. What is going on here?
  6. So i was shopping for a CPU to upgrade my friends computer (cus im just that nice), and i found that on amazon and newegg that the ryzen 5 2600 6c12t is 40% off right now. I picked one up and I deff recomend it. AT the time of righting there is 14 hours left on newegg. I don't see a timer on amazon so I do not know how long that will be there.

  8. I totally agree, they did that with the networking panel too. I wish windows would remember the correct sound settings in the first place. When a new sound device is plugged in or out it will try and change the default sound device to something else.
  9. I really hate when companies add more steps in to their UI. Or taking away features that are really good. STEAM CHAT is the latest and listed last in my post. The first change that pissed me off but I don't have a before screenshot off, is the google camera app. It was already crappy but reacently they put an extra step in the UI to get to the timer, flash, hdr, ect. But most eagerest the changes to the camera resolution settings. They removed a whole host of sizes in favor of a boolen toggle between 4k and 1080. The same for pictures, now its just full resolution and medium resolution. Granted I only used full rez, but still the fact that settings that are not harmful to the UI experience are being taken away is BS. It just pisses me off. It sucks too cus all the other camera apps, just don't do as good of a job as the native app for the phone.
  10. According to PC world, Intel's new GPU's will not be at the $200 mark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our original story follows. Intel’s discrete “Xe” graphics cards will be priced to move when they debut in 2020. In an interview with Russian YouTube channel Pro Hi-Tech, Intel’s chief architect and graphics head Raja Koduri said that the chip giant is targeting the mainstream $200 price point with its initial consumer offering. Koduri drops the information around the 6:15 mark in the video below. If you don’t speak Russian, you can turn on closed captioning and set the subtitles to English in the video settings, but they’re a bit garbled. Fortunately, Redditor u/taryakun provided a more legible translation of the exchange: AMD has also taken the “GPUs for everyone” approach in recent years, kicking off recent GPU generations with more affordable options, including the $200 Radeon RX 480 and $350 Radeon RX 5700. Raja Koduri headed AMD’s Radeon division before Intel poached him in late 2017. Nvidia, meanwhile, tends to launch new GPU generations with powerful high-end graphics cards like the $600 GeForce GTX 1080 and $1,200 RTX 2080 Ti. Nvidia has dominated enthusiast-class graphics cards for several years now, which probably plays into it and AMD’s respective release strategies. https://www.pcworld.com/article/3429582/intels-first-discrete-xe-graphics-cards-cost-200.amp.html
  11. I have been playing with ultra details at 1440 on my rig but due to my card not every game can hit a consistent 60 FPS. Since constancy in FPS is more important than not, I have played with locking at 30 with motion blue and for my eyes it helps not want to throw up at the pleb tier gaming experience. Since to me, I can deff feel each frame like a slide show the motion blue deff help prevent that, and since 30 FPS is easier to run at higher graphics settings I can maintain a consent FPS. I am not playing online first person shooter games so the in-accuracy doesn't matter. My question is, how many here have tried the same thing? Please remember I am not running an adaptive sync monitor so anything other than a FPS divisible by 60 will cause tearing (aka, half 30, or full 60). Also, in not competitive games, would you push the graphics and cap at half your hertz as well if your card was bouncing between 40 and 59fps or would you lower to medium details to hit 60? If i had a 4K panel I could run at 1080p and keep high and ultra settings but since 1440 / 2 is 720 I feel i would be sacrificing a bit too much in the resolution department. Anyway what are your thoughts comments, questions, and concerns?
  12. I have been using google cardboard for a while now but am curious if there is any good low cost VR say for around $200, if all I want to do is watch VR formatted videos?
  13. If you don't get it by looking at it, photons are not the same thing as electrons. Photons get blocked by solid objects. Not to mention the housing of the connector isn't attached to anything. I can understand a metal jacket for durability, however I have many plastic toslink cables and it is good enough. I will say they should make the female connectors metal, those break way too easily. If you still think gold helps, I encourage you to research the difference between a photon and an electron. https://www.amazon.com/KabelDirekt-Optical-Digital-Theater-Playstation/dp/B00DI89YAI/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=toslink&qid=1563473381&s=gateway&sr=8-4

Learn more about Gaming on YouTube here. After May 14, 2019, all subscriptions are now shared between YouTube and the YouTube Gaming app. Visit your subscriptions list to manage the channels you’re subscribed to on YouTube. ------------------- I only ever used the app a few times but I am not sure why it was created anyway. I would have preferred the main app just have a gaming section built in it. I think this is another example of how google sees a squirrel and runs off chasing it forgetting the project they were just working on.
