  1. I agree, only because I wasted a ton of money on a keyboard, mouse and headset which crushed my skull might I add.
  2. I do plan to SLI the 980 at some point later this year.
  3. Well I ordered the Zotac reference 980 and DPD are picking up the Strix tomorrow (hopefully), fingers crossed everything goes smooth!
  4. That's what is making me think of the Zotac, I can get the G1 GTX 980 for £480 lol.
  5. Thanks for the response, the Zotac is in stock so I'm going to do a swap for the Strix, hopefully I will be done then! If not the Reference EVGA is in stock on the 14th but it's £484!
  6. My Strix came today, horrendous coil whine.. It's going back and I managed to find a Zotac Reference 980 for £450, good swap you think?
  7. Well I caved and went for the Asus Strix 980.. Doesn't guarantee I will be keeping it, if the reference comes back in stock within 30 days of me having this I'm going to return it for one.
  8. I did originally want the reference 980 but never seems to be in stock.. Always cost more too, guess more people buy them because of looks lol. Might just return the GTX 970 for now and see what comes in stock soon. :-/
  9. Alternatively the G1 980 is £484, would that be a better choice?
  10. I feel like it may be a wise choice to go for the 980 now and SLI it later this year, maybe Christmas time. I'm going to order the Strix and test it, if it's not much better than I have no idea lol. Also it would appear the Strix 980 doesn't use just one 8 pin cable, that is the 970. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/10/08/asus-gtx-980-strix-review/1Look at the 2nd picture here.
  11. Thanks for the info, still considering going for it, is the Strix a good card? Been playing Ryse recently and have been getting stutters..
  12. My G1 was £262 and the Asus Strix 980 is £460, is that not a good deal?
  13. Not that I don't trust you but can anyone else verify this?
  14. Wow thanks for all the quick replies, I currently game at 1440p but do want to move into 4k in the future. Based on the replies here I may just pick up another G1 GTX 970 later on in the year.
  15. Hi, I recently got the G1 gtx 970 Windforce but I am now having second thoughts and thinking should I send it back for the Asus Strix gtx 980.. It will be exactly £200 more than I paid for the 970, alternatively I will probably SLI the 970 in future. Could anyone with any experience with the cards give me some input? Thanks!
