  1. Thanks for the Info! I don’t plan on building straight away. Was wanting to slowly buy parts here and there until I have them all. so 16gb of ram would be the way to go? (X2 8gb sticks) and will definitely take the ssd into account. It’s been a long time since I have been up to date with pc parts/ what is worthwhile. do you have any recommendations in regards to motherboards if I change to DDR4?
  2. Budget (including currency): $2000 roughly Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Main Stream Games Hey Guys, it’s been a long time since I have done a built and my old 7 year rig has finally kicked the bucket. Now I did a very uneducated built on pc part picker for a new gaming PC but I come to you for any advise/ potential saving I can do for my new build. The main purpose of this rig will be for gaming and hanging out in discord with mates. No streaming. No recording, just plain gaming. Main thing is I have a 165 refresh rate monitor and want to use that potential. I will also be reusing the case listed below from my old rig and the power supply unless you think I should also upgrade that. please see the list below on what I was thinking of. 3. So i have a dual monitor set up. Main monitor is a Asus VG278 and Secondary monitor (one having the issues) is a AOC G2770.Now i was starting up dark souls 1 on my pc and i went to full screen it with the in game settings. then my game crashed and the line along with flickering appeared on my secondary monitor. I have no idea what happened or why it did. i tried updating all my graphic card drivers. unplugging the secondary monitor and switching cables but nothing. and its not just from my pc. now all inputs into that monitor have the same effect (tested it with my ps4 and the line was in the same place). When i change the hz from 144 to 60 the flickering stops but the line stays. any and all help would be greatly appreciated. 20201218_125828.mp4.c95f3a90e6e2448571dc98548f901a36.mp4

  5. From what you guys have been saying i think i might hold off from upgrading and save a bit more. she still does the job fairly well i just thought i might upgrade because its been so long from the build date. i might even end up just building a new rig all together and use my current one as a streaming rig or something as most of the hardware will have to be upgraded together if i do.
