Maybe even staying on same platform isn't a bad option. Just getting 4790k and overclocking it, 8 more GB of DDR3 RAM for cheap and perhaps used 1080Ti or something that could last.

Get the 1080ti is probably what I would do. At 1440p you will still be gpu bottlenecked so no worries about the cpu.

Burned once on Razer and never again. I wouldn't buy another Razer product even if it was way cheaper than others.
Since then Logitech all the way, haven't been disappointed yet. MIght sound like fanboy talk, but that bitternes got me some sense and decent peripherals.

I saw that plugin. It supposedly has some audio delay issues and data-rate issues so I'll probably be getting a capture card.

Getting a 2nd PC would be really impractical for me, since I'm in a student dorm for the most of the year, or I'm travelling (so new laptop would do me better justice).

No one should decide on anything just based on brand. If they objectively look at each product they're interested in, let them go for it.

That's not really the hardware to stream with. It barely games. (no offense, just stating facts)

Also, your University is gonna be able to provide Windows 10 licence for free. Every does.

32GB of RAM in dual channel instead of 16GB single channel, 1050Ti instead of 1060, R7 2700 instead of R5 1600:

You should wait for GTX 1100 series GPU's.
In the meanwhile try and search for ways to optimize current games for lower end hardware, overclock GPU, put settings down etc.

All applications stress hardware in different way. You need more than just few stress tests to determine stability of the system.

I've had Steelseries Siberia 200 a year ago. I wouldn't take Steelseries again.

I'm a Logitech fan, but wasn't sure about their headsets. So I went safe route and went with HyperX Cloud II as it was #1 recommendation for all-arounder.

If I were to buy again, I'd get decent headphones and a standalone microphone (something like Blue Yeti or so).

Yah keep telling yourself. Razer fanboys are same like trump supporters, they have to yell everyone they're damaged.

I agree with him. I burned myself once on Razer and I'll never buy it again. That BS broke faster than if I ordered some cheap chinese thing off ebay. There's obviously a reason pepole aren't so fond of Razer nowadays, and if you'll tell yourself everything just to make yourself feel better, go for it. But truth is out there and people need to know. ^-^

    Corsair
    Zowie
    Logitech
    Finalmouse
    HyperX
    Roccat
    Steelseries

All better options to consider before Razer.

Razer products in genral nowadays aren't that good of a investment.the older one were pretty good but now them seem to just break once you touch them
    Just buy another G502

Q1= Notebooks and other mobile devices usually use LPDDR (low power) memory, and in notebooks it's mostly in form of SODIMM's. They're structured differently, therefore they don't fit in standard PC motherboards

Q2= If you mish-mash different RAM's you'd lose benefits of faster one as it'll be downclocked to the speeds of the slowest one in the bunch.

My new TN panel on DELL S2417DG looks better than my IPS on LG panel. So it's up to the model. Also, newer TN panels look really good and much closer to IPS than before.

And once you go high refresh rate, you can't go back.

    I have 24" model which is 1440p 165Hz G-SYNC for quite cheap.
There's 27" version, also 1440p but 144Hz and G-SYNC. They're around 400-500 and they go frequently on sale.
