  1. Download DDU then and uninstall drivers in safe mode. Then install fresh version with minimal web setup.
  2. Disable all overclocks, and all settings applied at startup. Same was happening to me on my R9 280 when OC wasn't actually stable enough. Just remove all settings and then uninstall all OCing software (Afterburner etc). Another issue can be especially if you have few of them installed at same time.
  3. So fresh Windows install happened? I remember a while back I had simmilar issue, and even cleaning drivers with DDU and other stuff didn't help. Only thing that worked was to reinstall Windows. Still to this day I do not know what was actually wrong.
  4. I think there's something in AMD WattMan or whatever that's called now that's causing this. Also, did you switch from another motherboard to Ryzen lately?
  5. Yeah but on this oc it's much higher from stock/turbo to it than most 7700k/8700k's do. So that might be one of the reasons.
  6. $5 off from total purchase Hmmm, just wondering, are you fammiliar with power leakage and how that's affected with temperature? If you're not, I'd suggest searching on YouTube for terms 'GamersNexus power leakage'. In multiple videos they explain it. And I'm definitely sure they'd explain it better than me
  7. Going back to Ivy Bridge when Intel started using toothpaste instead of soldering die to the IHS, whole delidding idea turned out to be viable option. If you feel like your (Intel) CPU is warmer than you'd like it to be, you can try delidding it. For me this blew over 25°C off my 4770k and allowed me to push higher overclock yet with lower temps. Many 8700k and 7700k users are even reporting drops of 30°C. Before/After temps: https://imgur.com/a/J1bGV These days, there's no need to worry if you'll damage your CPU in the process (unlike using vise or razor) since there are tools on the market that make it safe for you to remove IHS, apply liquid metal and even relid the IHS back on. One of them is Rockit 88 from Rockit Cool. If you have any further questions about anything delid related, feel free to ask me in the comments. In selection of tools, there's Rockit 88 for LGA1150/1151, Rockit 99 for LGA2066 and separate LGA 1366 delid tool. Also, what they offer is alternative copper IHS that can further decrease your temperatures. You can find liquid metal there aswell! Basically, there's everything you need to delid your CPU! Huge thanks to Rockit Cool for sending us the tool. Use code 'PCMR5' at check-out. https://www.rockitcool.com/
  8. Isn't Ryzen basically same performance as that? I don't think it's worth going back to X99 for 5960X. 6950X on the other hand is 10 core, and it's worth if found really cheap.
  9. I like minimalistic themes. Some might say boring, but basic and sleek black and white can never go bad. Especially if you wan't to spice it up with LED's, it'll be always compatible with any other color.
  10. Yeah I typed refresh rate while having fps in mind. And again. If my 4770k handled it then it is something on your side.
  11. This is just sad... Has no one learnt anything from whole EA debacle?!
  12. Pretty sure it's some kind of user error. I played both and didn't encounter a single issue... Refresh rate has a lot to do with CPU. CPU has to send instructions for every frame. The higher the refresh rate, the higher the load on CPU for those tasks.
  13. What are you playing that 4790k can't keep up with? There's not a single game where my 4770k doesn't run well, even on 165Hz.
  14. Love those signings on forum posts Hmmm, it's kinda normal tbh. CS:GO by default is mostly CPU intensive, you can basically play it with any GPU. If the GPU usage is fine in offline mode, you're also perfectly fine. Yeah, 4790k will hold for quite a while. The higher the screen resolution you get, the less the CPU will mean in the overall performance.
  15. >IT CAN BE more expensive, if you're going for higher end tier. Yet it can be cheaper aswell, also gives you more than just playing games. Endless options. >It's not just plug & play most of the time, but it's not rocket science either, quick google search can usually solve 99% of any doubts/questions >Things like now, where market for some components just goes wild (RAM, GPUs) >PC building is easy, but not for everyone. That's why there are prebuilts for people who just don't want to worry about >It can require a lot of knowledge to build a PC that makes sense and that's balanced >It turns into addiction at one point and it's hard to cure urge for better, faster... >Some games/software might just be very optimized for one set of hardware, while being complete garbage on other, consoles have that advantage of optimization and you know if you and your buddy buy PS4 you'll be playing at same quality
  16. Unstability can only be user error. Windows 10 works flawlessly for me, and anyone I know.
  17. I think if you use NVENC you can go with even i5 8400 and maybe get instantly a tad better GPU for the delta.
  18. What was in my options were: DELL S2417DG = 24" model with 1440p 165Hz G-SYNC DELL S2716DG = 27" model with 1440p 144Hz G-SYNC Didn't even check out any other models as they were pretty further out in my price range.
  19. I've been switching from MX-518 to G402 and now I'm finally settled with G403. Basically best one I used so far. But I'd also consider Zowie, they seem to have nice mice aswell.
  20. TV's use just doubled framerate, basically showing same image twice in a row. It's not actual refresh rate of the panel. Just thought you should know this for future ^-^
  21. Also, just recently I switched to my DELL S2417DG which is 1440p 165Hz G-SYNC and trust me I'm never coming back to 60Hz. You should chose monitor based on the games you play. If you're playing any shooter or anything fast paced, 144Hz+ will definitely be a better choice. 4k is still kinda irrelevant and it probably will stay that way in terms of gaming. It's just a buzzword for PR.
  22. You can use any medium sized cooler if you delid it. You can for example order Rockit 88 delid tool from Rockit Cool and some liquid metal and you'd lose like 25°C or 30°C.
  23. Yeah... No... I'd rather get something used than this. It just ain't gonna hold for long.
