Whichever cloning software you will choose, make sure it is suitable for your condition. Large HDD to small SSD or small HDD to large SSD or they are the same capacity. For the first situation, the cloning software should allow you clone only used part of HDD to SSD, otherwise, you need to shrink partition or delete useless files first. The later two situations don't have such requirement.

Your hot hot hot theory is probably correct.
I'd clean all fans and change the thermal paste on both GPU and CPU.
If you are not comfortable doing that, then take it to a shop that will do it for you.

Well, that is sure as hell a software instability, considering light browsing ain't crap on that GPU. Possibly reset windows, and look at drivers. More info can come along if I can work with this for longer.

Kind of a weird question but have you checked if the GPU (Graphics Card) fans are spinning? (ive seen this happen more times than i like to say).

Do what @Rohime said and make sure everything seems to be working correct. Also, remember that this could be any main component in your PC that can be causing this (PSU since you said crashing, Mobo not working right, etc.). But if that STILL does not help, i recommend to do what @adithyay328 said and possibly reinstall windows.

Well, have you ever installed a new piece of kit in your PC(those driver may be fing up). As well, I used to have the exact same problem, in turned out that my CPU cooler had died. Checked that out yet? GPU wouldn't cause pc to shut down

Most browsers save to your downloads folder by default, but you can set them to save to pretty much any directory. Some allow you to choose where to save your file each time you go to download (Internet Explorer)

As far as I recall you can't directly save large files like a movie because meanwhile its downloading it's been saved on some temporary folder and its only fully available to be moved to a flash drive once its fully downloaded, I could be wrong though the last time I tried this was in WinXP and it could work differently now, the easiest way is just try yourself if it worked it worked if it didn't well you know you'll have to transfer to the pen drive afterwards.

Makes no difference what drive you download it to. But you should be able to choose where you save a file when downloading it.

should be able to just right click the download file, and choose "save as" and then select the file location

Have a GOOD antivirus that is set to scan files at download, my AV will immediately quarantine downloads at the moment they finish downloading if it detects a virus in them (this doesn't work on Zipped or RAR'd files), besides downloading is not typically how you get infected, LAUNCHING the file is how you get infected, most of the time you can download then scan the file before use.

If you don't have anti virus program already installed, there are sites you can use to scan individual files such as: https://www.virustotal.com/

You don't have to worry about files off thingverse, they will be safe. Especially when you see how many people have downloaded it and commented on them. Seriously, I'm not gonna bother checking them because they are definitely safe.

If you are in University, chances are good that you get AV for free from your school.

At the end of the day, I run trendmicro at work because we have to (I'm a computer tech/admin) but on my home machine I just use windows defender and call it a day. Do as I say and not as I do though, and use something like avast if you don't have access to paid AV.

I've been using Eset Smart Security for years now, it's not free and is pretty good, but I'm getting ready to look for a decent free AV to load onto computers I work on to keep setup costs down for people on a tight budget.

Haven't used Avast in many, many, many years, I have no idea what they like today and my only experience with MalwareBytes is cleaning up an infected computer, i've not used it to the level needed to know what it can do.

Good antivirus programs such as NOD32 and Kaspersky will shut down the connection in the middle of it if they sense a virus, there are some web pages you can go to too to check like @pwn_intended mentioned https://www.virustotal.com/ is a good call, there is only so much Windows Defender can do and if you like to explore the internet and download exotic stuff considering buying a license for a good antivirus is advised, the last thing you want is to end up getting those Chinese virus that basically ruins yours PC and formatting ends up being the only way to go.

Most good AV software can scan in zipped files 3 or 4 levels deep. My trend micro at work definitely does this.

I don't use avast, and the free Malwarebytes version no longer lets you selectively scan folders. If you want, I can take a look at the file in question, let me know where you are downloading from and if it looks suspicious ill just do it in my VM.

GTA V Online usually has a period of time with snow and you can always go into Story and mod some snow in.  Another game is Steep, recently released by Ubisoft it's a game all about winter sports (skiing and snowboarding with wingsuiting and parasailing) and the setting is a mountain range covered in deep snow.  Not much of a Christmas vibe in Steep though.

It's only for a limited time, but GTA V's online changes for Christmas with snow and lights. May want to check that out, just a suggestion. It's a masterful open world game.

I've never used Code.org or Sololearn, and I've also never seen them recommended by anyone before. That doesn't necessarily mean they aren't good, but I can't speak to their quality.

Codecademy works for some people and it's probably one of the easiest beginner tutorials I've seen for Python. It also has a low barrier to entry because everything is done in the browser and you don't have to worry about downloading/installing anything. I've found the free version to be a little lacking though. It does go over the basics of Python, but it doesn't really get you to practice what you're learning. The pro version seems to give you quizzes and projects to do and also offers live chat help, so maybe that greatly improves the quality of the lessons as a whole, but I've never used it so I can't say for sure. I'm not against paying for lessons if you think it'll work for you but there are a lot of great free resources out there too so it's not required.

Also, because everything is done in the browser, you don't get used to working with the Python command line and tools that most developers use. Maybe they show you how to use them with the pro version or with the external resources they link to, but again I'm not sure.

Personally I don't recommend it based on the free version because I think other resources like Automate the Boring Stuff are better, but not everyone learns the same so you may develop a different opinion after trying them.
