If it is within your budget, I'd recommend the Asus Z97-A board. It has a great feature set (SLI/Crossfire Support, M.2 Sata Support etc), great bios, excellent OC options, for a reasonable price. If it is out of your budget range, try something like the MSI Z97 PCMate. If you don't ever plan on overclocking or SLI/Crossfire you can go with the i5 4460 and an H97 motherboard that is within your budget.

Don't think of overclocking in terms of performance right now. Think of it as being able to extend the usable life of your cpu. I can easily oc my 4690k to 4.5 ghz at 1.2v (which might help with minimum fps in some games but overall i don't notice much of a difference outside of KSP) which is a pretty substantial overclock for a cpu like this. However, overclocking like that doesn't give me any more performance in games since I'm not bottlenecked by my cpu. Hence why I say don't look at overclocking as performance you get right now. Rather look at it as a way to allow you more time before you need to upgrade.

H81 - entry level chipset. 2 RAM slots, not many sata ports
B85 - business class chipset. 2-4 RAM slots, more sata ports
H87 - mainstream chipset. 2-4 RAM slots, plenty of sata ports
H97 - same as H87, no BIOS update needed for 2nd gen Haswell/Devils Canyon, and can work with broadwell
Z87 - enthusiast chipset. 2-4 RAM slots, loads of sata ports, overclocking enabled, etc
Z97 - same as Z87 but guaranteed to work with 2nd gen Haswell/Devils Canyon and can work with broadwell

This is about the performance boost you can expect when switching from that processor to a 4690K. This is my personal experience after making the switch, and depending what games you play your experience may vary. But make no mistake, it is a massive improvement when it comes to everyday computing.

Also, if you are planning on getting a 4690K you will need a Z97 chipset to get it working out of the box without a bios update (with a few exceptions of h97/h87 motherboards that already have updated bios).

If you are going to overclock, get an i5-4690k with a Z97 chipset motherboard. If you are not, get an i5-4460 with a B85/H97 motherboard.

    H/B chipset - Cheaper, No/Bad overclocking

Z chipset - More expensive, Overclocking

The number is how new it is. Get a as new chipset as you can.

A good chunk of Z97/87 boards also have sli/xfire support whereas you wont see that on any B85/H97 boards, so keep that in mind too.

They're called wireless adapters. I'm using this one, and have had no problems with it. Some motherboards have them built in.

Here's a list of adapters from PC Part Picker: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/wireless-network-card/

I recommend staying away from any USB based adapters, as their speeds are bottle necked by the USB interface. Instead, find one that connects via PCIe lanes.
