    Pretty nice build.

I'd personally get a nicer IPS monitor rather than a TN one. Something like this.

    Hi there guys!
My little brother has been saving up for two years for a gaming PC and he finally has enough. He's only 8, but he really wants to start making some YouTube videos. He's planning on playing Minecraft, Terra Tech and Cities: Skylines. He'll only be using Movie Maker to edit, to keep it simple for him.
His favourite colours are black and red, so I was hoping to keep it at that. We're also on a budget of 1.4k AUD. I hope that this will last him 4-5 years, apart from maybe another drive and another couple sticks of RAM. We won't be overclocking.
I'm also going to donate one of my 270X's I'm currently running on crossfire until the new AMD cards come out this year, then give him the other one.
Any advice would be appreciated. In particular, I'm not sure how it will cool with two GPU's in there and the Australian summer.

Might want to get a cheaper case. What you can do is pick a few cases that, you think are good and then let your little bro, pick the one he likes.

You probably can get away with a stock CPU cooler because you won't be overclocking that CPU so that saves you about $75. Also maybe consider getting a HDD instead of a SSD because 250GB probably won't be enough if your brother puts any movies, photos or larger games on it. A hybrid drive can work well, especially if your brother doesn't want to have the hassle of an SSD with a HDD. For the power-supply the CX series uses cheaper components and doesn't have the quality of other PSU's like those from SeaSonic (see this one). That being said, if the computer is only ever going to be used very casually for playing minecraft, browsing the web etc. then there's not real problem with it.

Also for the OS, I'd recommend spending the extra $14 and getting the full retail version rather than the OEM, which can be a pain if he ever switches MOBO.

If you still need to save a bit of cash, get a less powerful CPU and cheaper MOBO.

Finally, if he's only ever going to be playing games like MC, which don't require hardware as powerful as this, then maybe consider spending more on things which actually impact the playing experience, such as a better monitor.

-You can't future proof. Trying to do so results in you wasting money for no reason.

With that out of the way, the only thing that that build might need is a better graphics card, but since you already have 2 270Xs you wouldn't be gaining a lot of performance unless you went for a 295x2 or a titan x, which I don't recommend doing in your position. You should wait a couple of months and see what amd brings to the table.

Everything else frankly is pretty new and doesn't need upgrading at all.
