NelizMastr got a reaction from TheCoder2019 in Minecraft setups
You can't connect the mobile versions of Minecraft to your own server hosting the java version.
You need to use computers running Windows, macOS or Linux for that.

Regarding the server itself. Minecraft wants a CPU with good single core performance.
If your dual xeon server is more than 10 years old, it's likely too old to run a Minecraft
server without lagging a bit. Any 2nd gen i5/i7 at 3GHz or better should be fine.
Without mods, 4-8GB of RAM is also fine for 10 players.

NelizMastr got a reaction from aglasencnik in I need some help with a Virtual Machine setup because of problems with graphic performance
For VirtualBox and VMware you need to install drivers before graphics acceleration even works.

For VirtualBox these are called additions, for VMware, they're called VMware Tools.

Graphics support is limited though. VMs are not really meant for that.

NelizMastr got a reaction from StDragon in Does Windows update Download all latest Motherboard Driver?
    It depends.

For older hardware, Windows Update is sufficient. That's mostly for hardware like Intel Kaby Lake and older, or AMD Bulldozer and older.

For Ryzen and recent Intel systems you can generally find newer drivers elsewhere. Especially AMD chipset drivers are best obtained from AMD.com.

Actually you can re use the trial 6 times by using this command "slmgr -rearm" but you need to to CMD as administrator

I do get that, but he can raise it to 2016 instead of 2008. This is what I meant. Technically either is fine, as the minimum functional level is Windows Server 2008 if one is planning to upgrade to 2019 later on.

Well, your memory is above 90% which means Windows will start moving programs to the page file on your C drive, which makes everything very slow.
That's also part of the equation.

How much RAM do you have?
Are your games and OS running off of spinning rust or SSDs?
How's the health of your storage devices? (check with crystaldiskinfo).

NelizMastr got a reaction from Takt1kal in Laptop not using 100% CPU while gaming, uses 20% and gives low fps
CPU at 100% would be bad as that causes major lag spikes and fps drops.

GPU should be 100% at all times, CPU never.

Looking up the specs of that laptop, it has a 3rd gen Ryzen Mobile with onboard graphics.
It's not going to run Cyperpunk if that's what you were expecting....

The Vega 8 is a 720p medium to 1080p low chip at best for most titles.

NelizMastr got a reaction from VioDuskar in I cannot reset windows at all
Create a bootable install media with media creation tool, write the ISO image to a USB stick and boot from it. Reinstall Windows as usual.

If you still have data of any value on your PC, back it up to an external source first, ideally an external HDD, a NAS or a cloud service.

NelizMastr got a reaction from Eigenvektor in Cant get speed more than 50MB/s - Windows Shares
There's also a difference between cheap CAT5e and good CAT5e, mainly CCA (copper coated aluminum wire) and full copper wire.
The former being crap in general sometimes barely reaching gigabit speeds.

Also make sure to disable the Wi-Fi connection on your laptop to make sure it's 100% going over the wire.

By the way, many laptop hard drives barely ever do close to 100MB/s because they're cheap junk.
Test this to and from SSD to eliminate the storage bottleneck.

Which is just the marketing side of it, yes. Afaik there is no software that REQUIRES AVX-512 as that'd exclude 99.9% of CPUs on the market.

In other words, it very likely won't be the killer feature to switch for. Not until after the laptop is replaced 5 or so years down the road.

NelizMastr got a reaction from felisimo in windows 10 doesn't see 5ghz wifi - super frustrating
Channels are to separate Wi-Fi broadcasts so interference from other networks is reduced. This matters mostly for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi where lots of networks broadcast on the same channels. Picking the least congested channel will improve speed. For 5GHz, the range is usually too limited to really have any issues with interference and congestion.

I don't know if that price will give any good motherboards for overclocking. If you're lucky you can get your hands on the most basic Z series board.

Honestly I think overclocking current gen Intel processors is not great, they don't clock very far past stock. A B560 motherboard and a non-K CPU is a good way to save $100
