  1. It's a 1050Ti at best for $300. Ouch. 2. Something like this'll do. For 650 there is no room for a graphics card though, unless you go down to the bare minimum CPU and 8GB RAM. 3. hard to say without timings. 3200 CL16 is as high as you'd want. If it's that or lower, it's fine. For the price, it's hard to find something better.
  4. Yup, typical symptom of a bad cable that only supports 100Mb. Good to see replacement cable fixed it Or an ISP that doesn't do fiber but dumbass DOCSIS/cable which has very limited bandwidth for upload due to congestion (like FM radio and cable TV and stuff) lol.
  5. Windows 8.1 will go end of life in about a year, probably best to upgrade to Windows 10 and install a current graphics driver. If you insist on running Windows 8.1, you could always see if there is a Windows 7 driver and install that in compatibility mode (for Windows 7) as Windows 7 was more widely supported than 8 ever was.
  6. Probably memory. Most LPX kits that don’t carry a Ryzen certified sticker are very unstable or refuse to work. Try with a single stick in slot A2. it’s especially bad in first gen Ryzen like this.
  7. Yup it's that simple. While the X370 Gaming Plus is an AM4 board, there was never any support for chips beyond Ryzen 3000 from 2019. That's when the X370 boards went truly end of life. You'll need to switch to a B550 ideally, or X570.
  8. This is a config file for the Office Deployment Tool. It does not include a license or activation, you have to get that yourself after installation.
  9. Nice clocks for sure. Shame it's a 4 core. That's the main issue with the 7700K right now.
  10. Have you tried opening it as an archive with 7-zip?
  11. Needed to take another good look at the label and then realized what you were getting at. Lmao
  12. Could you provide some more context? Where have you found this file? The numbering scheme is typical MS-DOS, for versions of config files like config.sys and autoexec.bat. It could very well be a text file in disguise like those. Have you tried opening it with notepad?
  13. The side panel you took off should contain a diagram of how the RAM should be installed. With 2 CPUs, you can't run dual channel memory with just 2 sticks, you need to have 4, two for each CPU. If it works without RAM connected to the 2nd socket at all, this will cripple the system even more as the CPU has to cross an entire NUMA node to get to the other CPU's memory. If the server works, great, now get 2 more RAM sticks and balance it out according to the HP diagram on the side panel for dual channel operation
  14. So, you have both a 1050Ti and 960 in your system now? Gsync, as far as I know, will limit framerate to work within a certain range, up to your monitor's refresh rate. When you run a lighter workload that will exceed your refresh rate in terms of possible framerate, GPU usage will drop. That's normal. This also occurs with vsync. In other words, it's likely normal behavior.
  15. This. And it's also stupid easy to migrate all your customizations and metadata to a new server. Especially if you run it on Linux, you just move the Plexmediaserver folder over to the new system, start the service and everything is back where it belongs.
  16. We’ll really need to know what model of server you bought. Could you tell us that, at least? €100 is not a lot of money and buys you 4TB at best with no redundancy, if it accepts your drives at all (HP servers go to 100% fan speed without drives with supported temp sensors).
  17. Lots of graphics cards fall back to lower power states when idle. Is it still running at x8 when you're running a benchmark i.e. Furmark/Heaven/3DMark?
  18. Just out of curiosity, but is your hardware ESXi 6.7 capable? Most hardware that was around when ESXi 5.1 came out, is too old now. You need at least a Sandy Bridge EP Xeon for full support (E5-2400/2600 series). Can be done on X5600 series with a simple boot flag if that's your jam. The reason behind upgrading to versions in between is probably VMFS related, as the VMFS versions from vSphere 5 aren't compatible with 6.7. Overall, I'd agree with starting fresh if possible. Keep the 5.1 drive separate as a fallback.
  19. If the HP also boots without the card installed, then the card is dead.
  20. And what have you done so far in terms of troubleshooting? Just to make sure we're not going to rehash things you've already tried. When all else fails, reinstall Windows.
  21. Makes sense to go for the RM850 in that case, I agree.
  22. The 5600X never comes close to 100W, and the 3070TI won't do more than 300W. You're fine with a good quality 550W or 600W. No need to buy overkill, as most PSU's have inferior efficiency below 50% load.
  23. Have you tried different PCIe slots? Does the card work in another non-OEM system?
  24. There is no valid reason to do this, though. Windows 7 is end of life and not safe to use online anymore. The only use case for an EOL piece of software is specialised equipment. Any other use case is invalid or stupid. Just my two cents
