  1. Pretty much any shoemaker or sewer (or any other craftsperson who does clothes or shoe repair) will be able to fix that, and probably for pocket change.

The proper sized rivet should do the trick just fine.

They would need a new clamp too, the lid is broken off there.

Not a sponsor thing, but from today's video, please don't actually have links to LinuxFX, it's basically malware and should not be trusted

Main channel videos get their own threads. Please post feedback to there. It's more likely that those who worked on the video see it.

Your notion has been posted by others there.

Captcha everywhere, blocked my many services,

These two are most likely because some of their customers or if they have free tier, those users. CAPTCHA, especially on CF sites, comes if there's unusually high number of bots coming from that IP. Services blocking IP is something they do to VPNs. So there, looks like they like money over improvements.

But thats not the charge, the wording tells me it can be anything after i place my order. 6 dollars can turn into 60 dollars at the border LOL. See where i am coming from?

Our customs office provides calculator for these. Basically, it's estimation based on the country's general rates that are given. Here's page for UK customs https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty. As noted there, standard VAT is 20% (which equals $6). But since VAT you pay for imports includes shipping and handling fees, store can't give you final number before shipping fee is calculated.

Looking at the wording there, those fees will be paid on entry, not to store. But of that I'm not sure.

Not happy about my Apos Linus Tech Tips keycaps order. They advertise them as "Full-size, compact, and everything in between", but the set does not contain a 7.0u spacebar. So it is not compatible with my new Bauer Lite 65% keyboard. I reached out to them to return the set. But I need to pay the shipping fee myself, which is more than half the value of the set.

Is it non-refundable shipping fee like what Amazon does or do they refund it with rest of the order? Making customer pay for return shipping is somewhat standard procedure. Especially if its international shipping. The difference with good and bad customer service comes whether they refund shipping fee or not.

  6. An update to this has been several Youtubers and other organizations cutting sponsorships. Which is fine, I guess. But some of them are doing it in a way which is hypocritical imo. As the sponsorships have been both money and free hardware, not acknowledging that the equipment has been received for free during the time when this was active, or maybe even after investigation was finished and public. So these people have been enjoying same benefits as with sponsorship while pretending to be holy.

I don't mind cutting ties, thats each own decision and I hope they have thought it through. But I find it morally odd to not acknowledge that there was/has been sponsorship and some equipment are from that. They could ofc pay up what is owed, but these people are as greedy as they are now accusing Jimms to be. So not likely.

Thank you for this, but where does one find these care instructions? I just checked the pants and there's nothing there about it.

Product page for the item. It's not very clearly said like with pictures.

This is something they should add as support page for stuff that gets their product page taken down. Like Stealth sweatpants. I looked from another similar products page.

  8. To me this sounds and looks like overreaction. There are Finnish companies which are still knowingly operating in Russia. Here there was middleman and Jimms doesn't seem like knowingly doing anything (which would mean knowing and accepting what middleman is doing and knowingly aiding in such actions, the difference is big if you stop to think about it). With exception of not checking further on the middlemen who were exporting to Russia before the war and continued exports after conflict began. From those sources, I don't even see mention about them being investigated or accused about wrongful actions. The middleman got not guilty verdict on export charges from lower court.

Though I get that one would take another result. The wording, especially on io-tech article, makes it sound like its worse. Customs did investigate things and Jimms being the retailer, they were part of, but not main focus on, the investigation. There's also mention about "suspicion on drones ending in Russia", but thats from US putting the two main suspects on ban list. No proof, no direct investigations, no convictions. So other than admitting being scammed, not so bad.

    😂

I'm guesing that for some people, when they hate something, those as well can be considered praise.

SInce it's more toward positive than negative.

Yeah, ok. I get what you mean.

The thing with that video, and Short Circuit overall, is that unless its Dan checking out some cheap bluetooth speaker, its not going to be trashing look. Thats not the style. So there's that. Then its sponsored. Which is said clearly at beginning and shown in title. So you know going in its not going to be too negative. Those two in mind, getting some positive points where that product earns them doesn't seem that bad thing that they would need to take something down or apologize.

Like, its not Dyson vacuum or anything like that.

I wash everything in tap cold water. The dryer at my laundromat unfortunately only has a medium and high setting, so I use medium.

Using machine drying might be the issue. Care instructions call for hang-drying. Material is polyester more than cotton.

  11. its 3 days old, as in posted just before weekend. Today is Monday. I'm sure if LMG feels something needs addressing, it will be discussed on WAN next Friday. In meantime, since you have watched it and are upset, maybe give here a gist on what you dislike about it? You can additionally TLDR comment section on, I guess, Youtube if you like. Then we can discuss if others here feel the same or not. After all, this is discussion forum and criticism for LMG is welcome. As long as it stays within reason.

E: Watched it. From Floatplane comments, I guess the issue is that its sponsored video and viewers think it received too good response than it should have. Considering it being sponsored is clearly said and marked, the comments of "good enough" and "ok", are imo fine. Overall this feels like another Playstation Portal, except this time its actually paid ad.

And someone equating a joke with sexual harassment should be aware that it dilutes the actual pain of actual sexual harassment. You should reserve that accusation for actual harassment.

You don't think joking about things like that overall dilutes it? Watch the clip, its under minute. Then you can take a side if you so want. Like, I don't want TL regularly. But if there's something I need to check to know whats going on, thats not my loss.

     WAN show did nothing wrong.

You landed spot on the "didn't watch, but have opinion on content" bin. This was on Techlinked, not WAN. There's huge difference. One is scripted and edited, the other is live streamed. On WAN some things can be accepted as oopsies, like the hard R discussion, since it's live. But this had script which was read from prompter with scripted interaction and went through whole quality control process.

But if someone is offended, why don't you just not watch that show? I bet there are a billion other YT channels and one of them must be appropriate for your taste.

Usually this is also my talking point. But here I argue against it. If the point of LMG channels would be to make suggestive and offensive jokes for adult audience, then sure. But it's not what they do generally. It's entertainment to teens and young adults. Of your examples, South Park was/is mainly 18+ in Canada.

Meh... its definitely a poor taste joke but is it sexual harassment? Nope.

But each to their own opinion.

    *sigh*

It's not sexual harassment as is. It's joking about such. Similarly as saying "if this doesn't work, I'm gonna kill myself" is not threat of self-harming, but joking about it. Both are cringe, and something hardly needed to make news entertaining.

"I'm promiscuous when I drink", is not and has never been the same of "I harass women when drunk". Nor is it ever a defense of harassment.

Its not, but its used as such and successfully so in some crowds.

Again, my point may have been bit taking it too far, but thats how I read it. The core of my point is still whether the joke was required to make that part funnier, was it necessary at all, was the first part necessary and should these kinds of jokes be made for channels whose core audience is teens and young adults? The childish "69" jokes and other such are already, and have always, walked the line for me. I don't like it when teens do them, and like it less when men my age do them.

"I get buzzed, and make life choices" is NOT harassment.

Assault comes In if the other person is too intoxicated to consent. that is not implied here anywhere in the joke.
Harassment comes in if the other person at the party one hits on is not receptive of the advancements and has told them to stop. Again, not a thing implied here.

Office romances are NOT by definition harassment. You need something more to attach the label.

Intoxication is very often used as defense of the accused when those are investigated in this context. Hence my note. Sorry if it was too much for your sense of reality.
