Got my first high refresh rate display today, an AOC Q27G2U I brought it back at the start of march but cause of le human malware it rocked up today. 75hz was good but 1440p at 144hz is smooth; I'm feeling the slight ipc and single core slow down of my ryzen 1700 as only some games can reach 144hz also maybe the maxing out of my 1070ti too :/.

For being VA it's a pretty good monitor, there is ghosting but in games it's not that noticeable 👍

Edit: also for being G-sync compatible, it works but flickers when menus dip down to low fps. Could be a driver problem though.

For most real-world use it's not that big of a deal, but it's something to keep in mind when you look at rated speeds for a drive.

Aye. If you think about it, selling something as "untested" when you know it's broken is the best way to get maximum return on your expenditure.

Who would sell it for that cheap if there isn't something wrong with it? I would pass.

At 25% or retail, I'm going to assume it doesn't work.
Most damage, unless it's a fire, won't be seen by looking at the cooler shroud.

UPDATE 2: I received the 1070ti today as apparently I got free next day delivery ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

SO bye bye to the RX 480 and HELLO, MSI GTX 1070 Ti:

I also game the PC a good clean and found a standoff that a screw got stuck onto which meant I had to get a pair of pliers out and drive the screw out.

    And the final product:

    Hello one and all,

    This is a build log of my new PC,  A E S T H E T I C A
and I must say this is a huge upgrade from what I was running before Specs below:

Sorry for the Low Quality images  they were sourced from Facebook Messenger and my Phone.
And anyway I started to get parts in this included a Phanteks P400s TG, Ryzen 7 1700, some sleeved extensions, an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon and a ASUS RX 480.
However this was April of this year and DDR4 prices were ridiculously high and still are but I managed to score some new Corsair Vengance LPX 3000MHz ram for under £100 on Ebay and I also proceeded to buy a Cooler Master, Master Liquid 240 that was on sale too.

Also while I was waiting for the RAM to arrive i just couldn't keep my hands of touching the parts and I have to say this RX 480 is MASSIVE against my GTX 660.

I have to say this is a FAT stack of components:

Somehow I managed to delete most of the images I took after I built it but these are the ones I had left:

Moving on to a few weeks ago, I brought an LG 29" 75Hz freesync dispay and a new 1080p monitor for VESA mounts and two Phanteks static pressure fans to replace the CM ones as they had circular frames and aren't that great for rads.
I also messed around to get some better cable management as well.

Here is the rear side for cable management:

And Finally my monitors / Setup:

My next planned upgrade is a new PSU as this one is too loud for my liking with every fan running under 1000 RPM I can really tell that it is loud. And possibly a RX Vega mid range card whenever they come out.

Thanks for viewing and there shall be a few more updates coming soon!

Well if you know your system will produce a large amount of noise, then I'd get the P400S. For me personally, I don't care about noise, so I'd get the P400. Pretty simple lol. I'm into sleeper PC's so I'm still rocking my Gateway DX4860 case and I notice no noise really.

A week ago I ordered a Acrylic GPU support bracket off eBay a UK modder was selling for £12 as I wanted to fix the STRIX sag. Today they came (they were delayed as he ran out of custom bracket screw) and I have to say it was a great deal.

    Here are some potato pics:
