  1. I've made a post before about this and it helped me narrow down my needs/expectations of this build I'm planning for a week now. You can see my current rig down below, not too shabby, right? Thing is, I've finally put enough money aside to put together a beast of a computer. What do I mean by that? Well: 1) The kind of computer that I won't have to worry about upgrading anytime soon 2) The kind of computer that can game on 4k with decent fps, nah, scratch that, awesome fps 3) The kind of computer that I can call a beast without any internet troll such as myself saying: "Well it's okay and all but you could do a lot better" http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2KwvkL This is the rig so far. I'm thinking of switching over the 4790k for the 5820k and getting a better SSD. Now in terms of GPU+PSU, I'm waiting for AMD's new 3xxx series to drop, price drops and more choices for me. So far I'm thinking 2-way SLI 980s, but in my country, Greece, for just 100 bucks more I can get a Titan X. I know it's overkill a bit, but as I stated above, I want this to be a solid rig for at least the next couple of years. Budget? Anywhere between 1k to 2.5k euros. Go wild with your ideas, just consider the fact that we can use some stuff from my current rig.
  2. To be honest, I'm sitting here thinking of going SLI 970s or even 2x 980s and shit, when in fact I could just buy a titan x for the price and be done with it.
  3. Lets not be fucking rediculous, my 8350 and 280x destroy any console experience.
  4. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/vV4Q99Keeping my 280x until AMD's 3xx series come out so I can have more options. Budget is around 2k+ euro and I live in Greece. Oh it feels good to spend hard earned money on heaven. P.S. So far I'm thinking 2 970s or even 2 980s if business is really great for me this next few months.
  5. Putting together an Intel rig and decided to go with the 4790k. Best i7 for Gaming/Editing, money is not an issue as long as I'm not spending over 500 bucks.
  6. Two words, cheap power. Hypocrite right? That's what I'm using. Switching to an i7 4790k. But an i5 pretty much destroys the 8350 in gaming. Editing not so much, depends on the i5.
  7. I'm new as well. When I want help I sit my ass down and compile a beautifully crafted thread in which multiple questions that don't deserve a second post can be answered. Not attacking or anything, just try and put all your thoughts in one place, it's a good skill to have.
  8. Exactly my plan! Keep my 280x until July and make my pick then.
  9. That is EXACTLY how much I know as well lol
  10. So I've been AMD my whole life in terms of GPUs. Not by choice or anything but they just happened to fit my budget/knowledge of GPUs (I know it sounds dumb). The area in computer tech I lack the most is Nvidia GPUs. I really don't know which is an equivalent to which AMD card, which series is the better etc. Can a Nvidia enthusiast please show me the ropes here? I've been really wanting to jump the boat recently and I want some background story on Nvidias GPUs. Side note: I'm putting together a brand new Intel rig (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/353730-intel-rig-thoughts/). I have not yet picked a GPU/PSU upgrade since I will be waiting for the AMD 3xx series to drop so I can have more options. If I were to go Nvidia right now, what would you suggest? I'm thinking 970 2-way SLI or a single 980, thoughts? Thank you all in advance
  11. Yup, gonna wait for the 3xx series. If they're no good, 2x970s or a 980 sounds awesome!

Holy shit i'm finally doing it. Halo 2. Not onl…

    100/44 amazeballs
  13. Come on what are you a pussy? haha
  14. Sounds like a fun day! What kind of music do you normally listen to? How about some Avenged Sevenfold, Offspring? Or are you a fan of the wub wubs?
  15. My AMD FX 8350 and R9 280x are running the game at Very High settings ~50-60 fps on 1080p. Really surprised tbh.
  16. Currently on a single 1080p 60Hz LG monitor.
  17. Oh no no no. I might have mislead you but I will not buy any GPU untill September. I will simply keep my 280x.
  18. I totally get your 100% valid points but I'm keeping back a little bit to allocate money for GPU+PSU upgrade.
  19. In terms of 3d modelling Nvidia definitely takes the first place but sadly I don't do much of that. I really don't care about brand as long as the GPU has a reasonable price/awesome results. But, I really want to go Nvidia. I've been AMD my whole life and all I'm hearing is how great Nvidia is. Especially lately, half the games I play are badly optimized with AMD cards, stuttering when they shouldn't, 10-15+ fps less etc. If AMD's 3xx series don't satisfy my needs I'm going for a 980.
  20. Yup, fixed that. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/hTq2NG
  21. I switched it over for the Corsair H100i.
  22. I'm thinking I keep my Corsair 200R. Any replacement suggestions?
  23. That's what I'm talking about. Going to wait after they come out and upgrade GPU+PSU together.
  24. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/vV4Q99 Good choices? My budget is 1.5-2k euro. Firstly, check out my current rig down below, I'm going to be keeping some stuff from it hence the parts missing from the build. I will be keeping my GPU and PSU as I want to wait for the new GPUs dropping this summer. Thinking of upgrading to a 980 or grab another 280x and put them in xfire for the time being. Any objections with my build? I'm going to be using it for edting and gaming.
