  1. Hello guys. I am quite sure that my PC has been infected by something (thanks to the contribution of family members who abuse of my PC) that slows it down a lot.In short: as soon as I turn on the PC, after a few minutes a cmd window appears automatically and for a nanosecond; after that, it minimizes immediately to an icon. By clicking on the icon, the window reopens and the content is this:http://puu.sh/yM360/d83f9749f6.pngIt is something that "downloads itself" apparently. In fact, immediately after the transfer ends I noticed that a process called msiexec64.exe is started; a few seconds and the PC becomes super slow in general. The process is located in a folder called ReinstallBackups (with access denied) in C: \ Users \ Franz \ AppData \ Local. After changing the security settings of the folder I managed to access it and I noticed that msiexec64.exe is accompanied by some other files (including .dll files). It is impossible to close the .exe from the Task Manager, so you have to restart the PC and prevent it from being opened. To do some tests, I then restarted the computer and immediately after booting I deleted the folder. However, the cmd.exe window appears anyway and after doing its job, the msiexec64.exe folder and process reappear magically. How can I get rid of this problem? I desperately ask for your help.P.S .: Among other things, when the PC enters the "slowed" phase, if you try to restart / shut down the PC, I get a BSOD.
  2. Hey guys! I'm abroad right now and I have access to the internet through my University's wifi, but I need to use uTorrent and such and of course I can't. Is there a way to establish a VPN connection between my laptop at Uni and my PC at home in order to use p2p and torrents? If yes, how to do so? Thank you very much.
  3. Yes, I know that. I have a Router NETGEAR DGN2200, I can see the attached devices, but is there a way to see how much bandwidth they're using too? Here are some pictures of the functions.
  4. Hey guys! As by title, I'd like to know if there's a program out there which allows you to see all the devices connected to the router and how much bandwidth they're using. Do you know any?
  5. Allright! Thanks for the help!
  6. So guys, I wanted to add a SSD on this HP Pavilion dv7 4015sl, and bought the needed cable to connect the hard drive to the motherboard on eBay (I asked the seller if it was compatible with my model and he said it is). Things are that: 1. I don't know where the connector is on the mobo. 2. Even if it's where I think it is, the cable seems too short to reach it. Here are the pics: http://imgur.com/a/7aqCe Can you help me out with figuring where the connector is? I'd like to know how should I install the ssd.
  7. Alright! Sorry for the late answer, I've been busy during the last days. Back on topic, the HDD turned out to be irrecoverable. In Windows's Disk Management Utility it wouldn't appear. I downloaded the WD recovery tool, made a bootable usb with it and started it. I tried to do a full test, it gave me an error after 1-2 hours or so (I left the pc processing, since the ETA was like 12 hours; then I came back and found the error). Then I tried to write zeros, but it failed and gave me another error. So I just gave up on it. I even tried to put it on another pc, strangely on this one the hdd would appear on "My PC" (the Disk Utility's loading was taking ages though so I couldn't get in it, couldn't be arsed to wait), but there were several "Removable Disks" and I couldn't even do something with them. So that's why I thought the hdd fatally abandoned me.
  8. Will try with the DOS tool from WD. I'll see what happens.
  9. Hey guys... I had this HDD from an old PC, so I thought to use it instead of leaving it to the dust. Thing is, when I plugged it into my pc via sata, at the startup the bios's SMART tool detected it as a bad HDD, so I went back into the mobo settings to turn SMART tool off, just to be able to start up my windows and see if I could see the HDD from the disk utility, but it didn't show up (also tried EASEUS Partition Master just to be sure, but nothing). I'm not that experienced for what concerns bad HDDs, so I'm asking for help. What's the best and fastest way to get it back to work? Please consider that: - There were some documents (so we're not speaking about all the files inside the HDD) that I'd like to save. - After saving those files (if possible) I'd format it entirely. - It's a WD5000AAJS (from Western Digital) 500GB.
  10. http://puu.sh/hKuwz/930b5e998c.png Here are the values after some minutes of driving around in GTA V at high res (I have a GTX 660 Ti Msi OC/Twin Frozr II 2GB) Are they ok? (furthermore... Is "Diode GPU" too high?)
  11. Ehi guys! So I just built a thermalright hr-02 macho rev b on my Intel i5-2500k @3.3GHz, and I got these temperatures while Idling... http://puu.sh/hKtRA/04fccdec1d.png I don't think they're quite "ok", or am I wrong?
  12. Hello guys! Wow you're fast! Yeah I did plug in the connector correctly on the CPU FAN header of the mobo (it's a P8P67-M PRO) I'll try to do what Speaker1264 said and see if it works. Thanks!
  13. Ehi guys, I just mounted a Thermalr"ght hr-02 macho rev b on my cpu. The fan actually works when I turn on the PC (so I think that the connector is correctly attached), but the bios says "CPU Fan Error!" on startup. Help?
