  1. I believe it would, it isn't a big enough difference to justify the price increase.
  2. Hi all, I'm going into my senior years of highschool next this year and have chosen a fair few CAD and multimedia based subjects. My school requires that I get a laptop for this year anyway but these subjects will require a bit more power than your avarage Chrome book. The main programs I'll be using are PTC creo Parametric and Simulate along with the Adobe suit. I'll be rendering 3d objects, short films and animations as well as possiblely runing engineering simulations. What kind of budget should I be setting to meet these needs? Does anyone have any recommendations for devices? Thanks
  3. The only one I could find in Aus was the LG 29UM59A-P. Do you know anything about that one?
  4. Could I ask why? I cant think of any reason to go for 16:9 when I highly doubt that my laptop could run on 1440p.
  5. I am looking for a decent ultrawide monitor to plug into my laptop. I don't think I will be able to run anything higher than 1080p. This monitor will mainly be used for work in the Adobe suit, writing large texts and playing games. Budget for me is under $350 AU ($270 US). If linking please make sure the site ships to Australia. Thanks.
  6. *I wasn't too sure where this thread should go so i just dumped in in general* I am taking an IST class at my high school: So far we have done next to nothing, we were told what the different components of a computer from about 20 years ago are, we learned about different jobs that IST classes can lead to and we memorised a bunch of "key terms". So you can probably tell that it came as a bit of a surprise when we were told that our final project was to design and build a robot using a raspberry pi. We haven't learned anything to do with electronics, coding or anything else that we need to know to build these robots. I have tried to find tutorials and the like online but they all exceed our $50 AUD budget. Since we had to get out part orders in by last week I just went ahead and listed a few motors. I now only have $27 left. My group and I decided that we want to make a remote controlled car/tank that shoots tic tacs. How do we do that? I know what each of the parts need to do, I just don't know how to get them to do it. Info/ parts - Raspberry Pi (not sure exactly which model) - 2x Basher Mach1 130 Size Brushed Motor (Black) https://goo.gl/nbqQpU - TB6600 Stepper Motor Driver https://goo.gl/AnJqbf Please let me know if you need any more info.
  7. Would you guys mind elaborating please? Why would that be better for me? Same as above. Black and white
  8. I have 3 builds that I am looking at. Just wanted some peoples thoughts on which one is the best. Option 1: Prebuilt system from MSY http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/mspec-gaming-pc/20266-mspec-infinity-gaming-system-amd-edition.html Option 2: PC Partpicker build guide https://au.pcpartpicker.com/guide/xDNnTW/gaming-streaming-and-editing-build Option three: This thing https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CZyZhq I need this pc mostly for multimedia purposes, although I would like to start playing more games. Ideally I want to be able to run 3D rendering programs smoothly, edit large premiere pro/after effects files and play games like PUBG with good frame rate on highish settings. My budget is about 2.5k AUD but isn't set in stone. Please let me know if you need any more info.
  9. How much do I need to spend to get a decent multimedia/editing laptop? I need this laptop for school so it has to be light and have a decent battery life. Location: Australia. Also if anyone has any recommendations please leave them below. Thanks!
  10. I have got fairly big hands and i find the Logitech G502 works great. Another option is the Razer Ouroboros. It's a bit more expensive but still a great mouse.
  11. Hi all! i am looking for a fairly high quality mic for streaming/recording. i am working on a laptop but i do have a 5mm audio jack right next to a USB port so 5mm jack+USB is no problem ;). i am soon going to be upgrading to a full desktop PC so a longer cord would be nice. also i would really like if a mic boom arm, shock mount and pop filter were included. i dont really know much about this sort of stuff so i have no idea if it is even possible to fit all that into a $100 AUD budget. idk but it would be great... Thanks! Edit* ATM i am thinking of getting this... http://goo.gl/22eUGp http://goo.gl/TlMRDc http://goo.gl/318C4z
