  1. Yea...I was actually just looking at that one. I feel that I'm really paying for the name there. I know Noctua has great fans and especially quiet ones. I was thinking of replacing the cooler master fan on the EVO212 with a Noctua fan anyway. Perhaps a Noctua cooler is just the way to go.
  2. I know that but as you can see from the other responses it's very close. So I guess my next question is can anyone suggest a good one that would fit better around the same price as the EVO212 ($35-40 USD)?
  3. Here's my build for my HTPC. I'm buying piece by piece. Next I'm looking at my CPU cooler and I'm unsure if the EVO 212 will fit in this case. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance guys! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7rYLBm
  4. I don't really need anything special it's for a HTPC with very minimal gaming, mostly for emulators. The estimated wattage is only about 300W so I shouldn't be pulling too much from the wall the 80+ bronze will do just fine. Plus through newegg I can get the PSU for only $34 USD
  5. Here is my parts list for my HTPC build. I am nervous that the PSU will not have enough ports to plug in my SSD, HDD, optical drive, and graphics card. I am not going to get the graphics card to start. However, should I choose to upgrade with the graphics card in the future, I am unsure if I will have a place to plug it in. 7. I tried this but the when I typed in the model numbers in Amazon it was having difficulty finding the model. Also I went to AMD's website to and the APU I selected (A8-6600K) has a spec for memory capacity @ 1866MHz. Should this play a factor in my selection or is this something unrelated to my RAM?
  8. 24" monitor...http://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PQU-Ultimate-Performance-Professional/dp/B00HY7PAUC/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1429198947&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=AOC+144
  9. Now I have heard that some people have had trouble with compatibility between their Gigabyte MOBO and certain brands of RAM (i.e. Crucial). Has anyone heard of this?
  10. So with an APU the speed of the RAM comes into factor because the iGPU will use DRAM to help it along?
  11. Does the speed really matter in a HTPC? Should I select something higher than 1600MHz?
  12. I really prefer AMD to Intel so that is why I selected the A8-6600K and the gigabyte board with FM2+ socket. I'm looking for some good RAM in most likely 8GB (4GBx2) to use with that APU and MOBO. Does the speed really matter? 1600MHz?
  13. I am looking at the AMD A8-660K APU and Gigabyte's GA-F2A88XM-D3H MOBO. I am having difficulty selecting the best RAM for these. I am looking at ADATA XPG V1.0 (8GB...4GBx2). This will be for a HTPC, also doing minimal gaming. Nothing too demanding really. Any thoughts would be very appreciated.
  14. HTPC mostly. Maybe minimal gaming (emulators, Sims). Nothing too demanding.
