  1. My phone gets a good connection when placed next to any of the antennas. It must be software related. but this problem has been going on since I set up my computer. origionally i had no connection and buying the bigger antennas and an extended one at least got me online but with a still weak signal.
  2. Okay so first i must say I already have my router in an optimal location and the antennas are perpendicular, I already know this to be best. However I still get spotty connection on my PC which is upstairs through some thick walls and possibly led based paint (its an old farmhouse). My wireless card has 3 antennas, 2 of which are perpendicular and not really moveable. However I have a 3rd antenna that I can move 5 feet in any direction. This antenna seems to be the biggest effect on my spotty connection. Ive played around with a few positions but Id loke to know if anyone here has any insight. SHould I place it closer to the floor or ceiling? Closer to the doorway or more towards the router's position(taking walls and paint into account)? with the router being downstairs should the antenna be horizontal or vertical or on a 45 digree angle? also could my problem just be windows 10? I get random disconnects yet my network is still discoverable from my PC immediatly after. to reconnect I need to forget the network and reconnect wioth the password. simply reconnecting usually doesnt work.
  3. Okay so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on any good free software for speeding up pc performance, any anti malware/virus, cleaning out junk, software updating, Driver updating,or over all maintenance. Currently I use Malwarebytes, Advances System Care by IOBit, and Drive Booster by IOBIt - All up to date and all free versions. It works well for me and my PC is always snappy, but im wanting to try something new because my way isnt always the absolute best and I havnt tried anything new in 3 years.
  4. Awesome! Thank you guys. I'm no longer extremely confused and don't have to settle for the define r4. Thank you, Nelson Mandella for not dying in prison like everyone remembers.
  5. To be quick, Is the Asus Maximus VIII Formula atx or E-atx? I remember reading and hearing on several occasions that this motherboard was an E-atx board. I even spent days trying to find a case that I wanted to put it in because the define r5 isn't compatible with E-atx boards. However today I looked again and saw it was listed as atx on a few different sites. Am I suffering from the Mandella effect? Basically I need a specific answer. Is the Asus Maximus VIII Formula an atx or an E-atx board. Also, am I alone on this one or does anyone else remember it being different?
  6. Yes it is. And it's a great case but there are just some things about it I just don't like. For example the fact that the door opens to the left while I always place my pc to the right or that the SSD mounts on the back of the motherboard tray require you to remove the board if you need to swap, install, or remove them. So far it looks like I might have to settle on the R4 but I really don't want to.
  7. As the title states, I need a recommendation on a good E-ATX case. But I have a few requirements. 1. The case must be black or mostly black. 2. It must have a minimum of 2 5.25" drive bays to accommodate my card reader and bay drawer. 3. I really would like a front panel door such as the Fractal Define R5 to cover the previously mentioned expansion bays. Let's be honest, they're ugly as hell. 4. It must have a side panel window. I plan to show off the Maximum viii formula when it comes out. I'm going all out on this build since I can finally afford it. I've spent days looking for the right case but with my schedule I just don't have the time to keep looking on my own. It's a shame the Define R5 isn't E-ATX compatible.
  8. Well, I'd like one because my pc speakers are going so I do need a new audio solution. I also think that sleek and professional looking products look the best and it would be nice to have a matching set.
