  1. Yes, it does. However, the control functionality and playback gets a bit wonky doing it that way. The use of the iPod has worked wonders all the years I have been using it, but unfortunately it is on its last leg and the prices for them have gone up significantly and given I have, as of late, been adding higher quality audio files to my library, they are not supported by IOS on iPods.

  3. The high-res audio isn't just for that purpose. While the main use will be for the truck playback, it will also be utilized in other situations where the higher audio files will have application.
  4. Hello all, I have been hunting for a DAP to replace my iPod nano 7th gen. I have one currently, Shanling M3 Ultra, which I love and use for other purposes. I am looking for a simple one to utilize in my truck. Here is the part I am looking for suggestions on as my research has lead to very little in way of solutions. I am wanting to connect via USB to play the music rather than Bluetooth or AUX. All the DAP's I have checked on either don't give any information about this capability or simply have a USB/DAC mode and won't work as a passthrough for audio. The player also needs to support Hi-Res audio (FLAC etc). Any recommendations?
  5. I appreciate it. I actually just looked more into the 3200G on board graphics and was actually surprised as to its power for graphics demand on gaming - which if it can handle that load on 1080P gaming still giving around 60FPS, I may not need the GPU as you and the other poster stated.
  6. This computer is for my father and while he mostly does his business with it (mostly word documents and web based systems) I am uncertain of the full extent to which he needs graphical computing which is why I picked a "budget" graphics card. Nothing overpowered, but still within reason should his workloads demand something more and wouldn't need to upgrade for him should something change. I am only hypothesizing his workloads which is why I am wanting to have dedicated.
  7. My concern is some bottlenecks with onboard which is why I would want to do a dedicated card.
  8. Budget (including currency): $600-700 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Non-gaming Here is what I have planned. Any suggestions on ways to reduce cost a bit? This is a non gaming rig and will primarily be used for work (nothing too demanding such as rendering or photo editing) I do not wish to use anything with onboard graphics, so a GPU will be needed. 9. Much appreciated for the input. I do believe you sold me on the setup to go with.
  10. I appreciate that input and comparison. Last question for you, if I were to go with the K7XX's as you seem to really enjoy them, would spending that extra $80 ($100 really) for the modi/magni be the better option than saving the $100 and doing the Fulla? I am all for saving if doing the two units doesn't add much that the AIO could do.
  11. oh damn, yeah, it sucks trying to get the "perfect setup" since it is never complete and always changing.
  12. I am seeing a huge price difference in terms of the K712 - Amazon for $280 and AKG website for $500, both appear to be pro editions... I may be missing something there. Given you own the K7XX, how much of an improvement would you be hearing by going with the K712? Mostly looking at the price to performance. If the K7XX will get me there and the amp/dac will help bump the audio, would doing the K712 really be worth the extra? Also, since I am new to DAC/Amp equipment, do AIO like the Fulla have any reduction in what they produce in comparison to doing them separate?
  13. Oh I see what you meant, sorry I misunderstood, thought you meant a switchboard/adapter (mixer style), my bad.
  14. I appreciate the information, how do you like your combo DAC/Amp, meaning are your still please after X duration, held up well etc. For $65 that isn't too bad compared to spending $200 for the Schiit combo of the modi and magni.
  15. What adapter do you have your speakers on? Thanks for the information and your thoughts
