  1. I recently bought a Samsung 850 Evo for my macbook pro from 2012. My mac does have sata 3, which means the ssd is getting the full 6 gbps. The rated speeds for this ssd is a read speed of 540 mbps and a write speed of 520 mbps. However, I get extremely low scores for write speed when I test the disk using blackmagic's software. I reportedly get from 300 - 485 mbps, which is not as high as 520 mbps. All apps were closed when the disk test was run. The read speeds are normal while the write speeds are very low. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Problem was nonexistent until I updated to the latest version of precision x. I then downgraded to an older version of precision x however it did not fix the problem.
  3. As of now, looks like the problem is fixed. Solved by switching to MSI Afterburner instead of EVGA's Precision X.
  4. I'm pretty sure I'm on the latest bios; the most recent I found was from 2016 and I bought my card in 2017.
  5. Hi all, I have an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 2, and have encountered this problem of changing voltage just recently. The clock settings are perfect and have worked for the past few months. However, now, it runs at 2000 MHz at 1000 mV and randomly changes to 1700 MHz and 800 mV. This greatly impacts its performance, and I tried to figure out the problem. I replaced the newer driver with an older one, but that didn't work. I tweaked clock settings a bit, but that didn't work either. It used to stay stable in the 2000 range and its definitely not thermal throttling because I have many high performance fans and its temperature never goes past 65 C. I'm having a hard time figuring out the problem and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Fixed my problem. Had to reset BIOS using CMOS jumper; I guess on board graphics was the problem, although it would be nice to have on board graphics for the display so that the display would not lag while rendering videos.
  7. It says neither free sync or g sync on newegg specs; i have an asus vs247
  8. I spam it so I guess its either the narrow window or something else
  9. Hm so I may have to try spamming it faster lol but it never used to go through the bios so fast and also I set on board graphics to be the initial display output.
  10. Hi, I have a Gigabyte Z97 HD3 Rev. 2 motherboard. I could access the bios before; there I set the initial display output to be the on board graphics. The HDMI cable is now plugged into the motherboard. When I try to boot the system with the cable in the motherboard, it does not output anything on the display. I have 2 GPUs. When I plug it into a 960, it skips the bios screen and only outputs the login screen of windows 10. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would not prefer resetting CMOS battery.
  11. Ah I meant an increased memory clock seems to increase hash rate compared to increased core clock
  12. I really need this to be cleared up. On nice hash, my 1080 gets 395 mh/s mining lbry credits. However, when I dual mine lbry (which supposedly utilizes core clock) with eth using the claymore miner, my lbry hash rate is merely 25/35 mh/s. Why is this happening? Also, when mining zcash, an increased memory clock seems to increase the hash rate compared to an increased memory clock which confuses me, because I heard zcash uses core clock. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  13. I have an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2, and I prefer using MSI Afterburner to overclock and adjust settings; however, the "Power" fan or second fan does not seem to be controllable in MSI Afterburner while it is adjustable in EVGA Precision X. Does anyone know a way to control both fans of the card using Afterburner?
  14. The title pretty much sums it up. For example, Ethereum is more memory intensive from what I've heard. So, does anyone know of coins that can be mined faster if the core clock of the card is increased?
  15. I connected them, but for some reason they are not getting power. Could I be doing something wrong? What are the necessary connections
  16. Interesting. I plan to hook up 3 rosewills, a total of 0.48 A. That seem okay?
  17. I see your point. I bought one premium noctua fan at 3000 RPM and around 200 CFM and that will be directing air towards the main GPU. I also bought a cheap 4 pack of rosewill fans just for some extra flow around the case. The side panel fits 2? I thought it only fit one because there is only one mount.
  18. How did you get max 8 if I have the normal side panel?
  19. So, 2 delta fans at 252 CFM or 4 rosewill fans at 37 CFM around the case or 2 noctua industrials at 3000 max rpm?
  20. Thanks for the response. for example if I bought the Rosewill 4 pack for 15 bucks compared to a 2 pack of noctua industrial which would be better?
  21. I do not care about silence. It can be as loud as it wants. Do premium fans significantly cool better?
  22. I have the normal side panel but I usually leave the side panel open because it mines so I assume open case mining is better. Does that mean I have max 7 system fans? And also big question do premium fans make a difference ?
  23. My computer mines, so the fans are needed lol
