  1. The thing with this is I don't think you understand..The argument for Ivy-Bridge or older can be made. If you had said Haswell, ya sure but Ivy? You can get upwards of an extra 15-30FPS in gaming! In multithreaded task the 7700k can be upwards of 15-25% faster. Whether that's worth it to some or not is up to them. Same argument can be had for Ryzen 5/8 though not really the time to go pull out the numbers on that. As for this guy here, the laptop is not something I'd use tbh. You can get laptops with 1050/1050Tis/1060s in them with i7-6700HQ's/7700HQ's, 8-16GBs of RAM, IPS screens 1TB HDDs and sometimes 128-256GB SSDs for $700-$1000. I mean, ya it's usuable and probably for his cases but if given the opportunity I'd for sure upgrade to a nicer thinner, better battery life, resolution ect laptop. Don't tell anyone they can't upgrade, it's really up to them whether or not they want an upgrade. They could have an FX-6300 and GTX 750Ti and if they are happy with their performance, they don't need a upgrade.

Glorious near max settings 60+ FPS, I'm going t…

Because mining and stuff, it might not hit $300 but if it hits $250 or $275 or whatver
  3. Glorious near max settings 60+ FPS, I'm going to miss you for a bit...

If my 290 happens to go for $300, I'll probably buy some super low end GPU to be able to still play like Overwatch and stuff

    1. Majestic

      Majestic

Why would it sell for $300?

  4. Yup basically... Going from a core 2 duo to A6-3650 with double the RAM was NIGHT AND DAY . Like... went from minimizing all settings barely running it to maxing settings in what I play. Which was like Farming Sim 2015, Spintires, Minecraft ect... then I got a 750Ti... holy fuck the experience. I then uh... threw an R9 290 with my A6-3650 lol, but that wasn't for long until I got the i3-6100 a long time ago. Such hype, now with mining I am selling my R9 290, I'll sadly be without any GPU for awhile but if i get $300 for it and wait it out to save up a bit and either wait for Vega or get a used 1080/Ti. (will only have 1080p60Hz monitors at first, no fear! 2x 21:9 60Hz IPS Curved monitors and a 1440p IPS Freesync 144Hz panel) Will get whatever I can find for $300-$400 first onsale/used
  5. Don't be like that We've all been there... or at least most of us. My first PC was worse than than. A Core 2 duo w/ 4GBs of RAM and no GPU. Then an A6-3650 with 8GBs of RAM, then I added a 750Ti. Let me say, it's really not so worth it going super duper cheapo. If I were you, I'd wait for Ryzen 3. At least buy a CPU on a platform where if you ever so choose to get the option to upgrade, you have it. It will probably cost upwards of $110 for CPU, $65 for Mobo and $40 or so for RAM. It seems pricey at first, but think of this way... in a year if you can upgrade again, you just need to get a new CPU. Plus Ryzen 3 is likely to outperform the 860k by upwards of 60-70%. On top of that, if you own this PC, you don't need a new case or anything. Budget systems = fuck all to things like nice cases or fans and so on. What's your PSU? It's like "good enough" for what just adding in Ryzen 3, if it hasn't blown your PC up already than Ryzen 3, B350 board and 8GBs of DDR4 won't make it either.
  6. For example... http://prntscr.com/fjyawt http://prntscr.com/fjyazs http://prntscr.com/fjyb2e All in USD.
  7. /r/hardwareswap Most go up for $120 but tbh most will take $100 Looks like a pretty normal price in Vancouver tbh, honestly.. that's not even bad compared to what I've seen near there. Though in my state 1.8m would honestly get you 50 acres of land and a mansion with over half a million to spare
  8. Heh, good luck finding one for over 75% of that price right now
  9. I've seen 780Ti's or R9 290s (before mining bump) go for $100-$110
  10. For $88? Seriously could of gotten a GTX 780 for that price.
  11. Seriously OP, spend the extra $100. If you want to go SUPER BUDGET scrapyard wars the thing. Find some random ass case, you can usually talk people down on used PSUs, just double check that it is a good one. Instead of $90 on a GTX 1050 you could find a GTX 780/780Ti for $100-$120 which would be WELL worth it.
  12. Depends. If you want better resale price in the future and an overall newer card. If you don't care about resale, just want the best bang for buck card then a used 980Ti will be your friend
  13. 720p60FPS Use Intel Quicksync Bitrate set to 2500 - 3500 No point in streaming past 720p60FPs unless you're a partner
  14. Link? I've been watching multiple websites for weeks, I've seen few 480s/580s hit near $450 but usually never more
  15. They aren't http://prntscr.com/fjv915 But $600-$700 is not what miners would pay, it isn't worth it at that point to many
  16. Depends if he just wants money now rather than later. Could sell it for $300 or mine for just over 2 months and make $300
  17. Were they up for that much or did they sell for that much
  18. Not $400, maybe in rare scenarios but for $250-$350? Yes for sure
  19. Hope this isn't a fake bidder but... if my 290 get's above $300 I'll be hyped as fuck. Put it up starting at $200 http://prntscr.com/fjuub5

  20. how far from true that is and changing thermal paste magically won't make his temps drop 15-20C The cooler likely isn't mounted correctly
  21. 2 34" ultrawides and a 27" panel will take up most of it plus my PC being on it
  22. I think the question is... why not 2 ultrawides? The middle one is obvs for gaming, I almost always have Spotify, Discord, HWMonitor, Steam/Origin/Twitch Launcher which is all in all enough for 1 monitor. I want to stream so that'll take up a good portion plus... I didn't just build a 7.5 feet wide desk with a width of 36 inches for nothing lol. Gave myself a $2000 budget for Monitors and GPU. I likely won't need to go past $1,700 plus since I am selling my GPU it'll be closer to like $1,500
