  1. I'd like to see the NAS performance for the CM3588 go head to head with the Intel N100 solution shown here. CM3588 definitely takes the power consumption trophy but the N100 definitely has a lot of perks being an Intel platform and massive single core performance bump.
  2. I found the solution to my problem. Apparently the local Google server(s) are misconfigured somehow and to fix the issue you have to turn on IPv6 on the router....wow.
  3. Asus GT-AXE16000 was on Beta Asus firmware, problem was noticed using BlueStacks Android emulator and 2 different android phones Updated to newest official firmware (all settings wiped) Tried using DMZ Used Verizon's router and confirmed working using their router updated Asus router to latest Asuswrt-Merlin still having the issue Triple checked settings, didn't see any filters enabled My next step is Asus support possibly for a Warranty repair/replacement because im fresh out of ideas. Maybe someone here can give me something fresh to try.
  4. I got an email from Arctic's support through Amazon alerting me to a defect in the Liquid Freezer II. Looks like they're sending people repair kits for free so good on them! Link in the image: https://www.arctic.de/us/lf-service-kit-amz
  5. What screen was decided on with this projector?
  6. You definitely bring up some good points here. I didn't think about using the app before hand so I went ahead and installed it to check it out. Thankfully you don't need the car to see some of the features although everything in there is pretty basic. I also reached out to the local power company to see if there are any perks to charging off-hours because if there isn't then you're correct a smart charger would make no sense, however if there is some savings to be had there I think a scheduled home charger would be very welcome. As for the looking at other forums for more info, I've looked and got some info here and there but I was curious if the IT community had their own take. Myself, I like to cover everything about everything I buy especially if it's a big purchase. In EV's I think batteries are still a bit of an unknown so it makes me more nervous to jump into it without covering as much as I can. I have experience dealing with RC car batteries and remember how temperamental they are and how much differently you have to treat the batteries depending on their chemical makeup. A good example would be Linus not wanting to fast charge his phones. I guess I should mention I'm looking at a BMW i4 so there's not exactly a history of best practices and information out there yet.
  7. I have plans on getting an EV a little later in the year so naturally I start to look for a charging box for my home. I go through a couple of 'best of' reviews and find a couple of names that are reliably showing up, ChargePoint and Juicebox. In a closer look I'm not seeming much for 'Smart' functionality only the ability to schedule charging times during off hours, but they both have that ability and the Juicebox is slightly cheaper. Then something interesting catches my eye with the Juicebox called Juicenet Green that 'syncs with grid generation sources' which sounds like the most 'smart' thing I've seen on a charger like this. Regardless of the $50 upcharge for extra grid feature the Juicebox is still comfortably cheaper than the ChargePoint but not everything is greener it seems as I looked at the reviews on Amazon. There definitely was a mix of reviews between support and reliability but it's hard to take Amazon reviews too seriously so I was hoping that someone on these forums would have maybe had experience with these chargers. I'm still leaning towards the Juicebox 48 or 40 depending on availability of course. Kinda tired of "smart" being thrown around like the meaning is it can make a schedule like an old smartphone from 15 years ago, and something I was surprised to not see while looking into these devices was similar information to surge protectors and the such considering such expensive vehicles would be hooked up to them. Any advice or experiences with this tech would probably be much appreciated.
  8. Why buy 2.0? Simple, futureproofing. If you can buy once and not worry about hooking up a next gen monitor with a tech you're looking forward to, then why not. So I've I'm reading the spreadsheet right then the only cable to reliably pass UHBR10 were the Blue Jeans cables and maybe, potentially, the cables listed on the Amazon top 9?
  9. some of their other tools look promising. I wonder if they're robust enough.
  10. There were some good software listed there as well as questionable ones but thanks for the link.
  11. I love the functionality of Clonezilla but it seriously needs a makeover and has pretty confusing wording where you don't know what the heck you're supposed to be doing sometimes. I've used it and can't get behind the software other than a last resort, but thank you for the suggestion.
  12. Is the UHBR10 testing still in progress? Seems a bit odd that the only cables that claimed to be 2.0 and UHBR10 are on the Amazon Top 9 list. Also, what the heck is is a Versa certification for a DP cable and did none of those pass UHBR10 either? As someone looking to get some 2.0 cables the spreadsheet isn't as useful as I hoped.
  13. It may be a sad day having to leave Acronis True Image after so many years of using their software, upgrading from version to version, but I think it's time. True Image is no longer a standalone product and like many other software has gone to subscriptions. The problem being that I never used or viewed Acronis in a way that justifies paying a subscription service. Also, to put it bluntly, Acronis has become bloatware with all of the services and extra security pieces that I simply don't want or wasn't using hence even more of a reason not to pay a subscription. I have used free image and backup software in the past but none that were as simple and useful as Acronis was so I don't know where to turn and if something new may have popped up in recent years I'm unaware. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  14. UPDATE #3: Last update I got from them (Newegg) was on Friday. The weekend passes with no email, ok maybe their RMA is off and they can't do nothing. Monday passes...ooook maybe they had MLK day off too....Mid-day Tuesday wtf is going on? I decide to finally call support and after about an hour of back and forth and asking for a manager they agree to give me a refund cool....But that's not the end, of course. A day later I get an email with a tracking number saying im being sent a motherboard. *sigh* Well at least I recorded the support call
