  1. I have a GTX 960, but I would love an RX480 so I could slap a waterblock on it and overclock it to some beastly powahh!
  2. Not sure whether I would get enough money from selling the 960 to justify a 1080
  3. It think a 'The Workshop' video on whether using a dedicated PhysX card actually makes any difference would be an interesting one...
  4. I will test it when i get my 1070 and let you all know what kind of performance gains there were, if any. Thanks for the help.
  5. I saw this post which stated that there was a performance gain, but it's an old post now so I'm not sure if it still applies. http://www.volnapc.com/all-posts/how-much-difference-does-a-dedicated-physx-card-make
  6. I'm planning to get my hand on a 1070 some time soon and was wondering whether its worth keeping my old GTX 960 in my rig just as a dedicated PhysX card? Will this offer much benefit to FPS in a gaming application? Also, would I able to utilise multiple GPUs to render in Premiere Pro? Any help is massively appreciated. Thanks
  7. I think that the back side panel is designed for people who take true pride in cable management and spend as long making the back look good as they do the front. If you want to show off your amazing cable management game then do, but I see your point; some people don't want to show their cables...
  8. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Linus Tech Tips forum, I would like to hear your opinions on this brand new tempered glass edition of the Enthoo Evolv ATX. Do any of you have plans to do some custom watercooling in this case? Please post any ideas you have into this thread.
  9. Drive can't be seen in boot manager either
  10. I have just moved over to an ITX case and my motherboard will not show up my 500gb WD blue drive. It shows up in the Bios, and shows up when I plug it in via an external dock, so I know the drive isn't dead. I have also used different SATA cables so it is not that. The power is not an issue as I have tried other drives off that connector. Anyone got any other ideas? The motherboard is an AsRock-Z97E-itx/ac and I'm running a 4690K and 8GB of RAM
  11. If you do build your system then please let me know how it goes doing custom water cooling in the S340. I have an S340 too and I am planning my loop as well.
  12. The 4590 is locked, meaning you can't overclock it. If you're spending that much money on a custom cooling loop then you may as well spend the extra for an overclockable CPU and mobo.
  13. You could probably fit a 240mm in the front and a 120mm in the back. You could probably survive with just the 240 but the 390 would run a lot cooler with the extra 120mm of cooling space. Also, I wouldn't recommend watercooling a 4590, try to upgrade to a 4690K or 4790K either now or in the future to take advantage of the lower temperatures.
  14. Hi, I want to hear everyone's opinions on the new SF600 and SF450 small form factor SFX PSUs from Corsair. Would you buy this over the SilverStone SX600-G? Also what are your opinions on the larger 92mm fan in the unit, compared to the 80mm fan in the SilverStone PSU?
  15. To make it easier for us, please use PC partpicker and then put the link into the forum, Google PC part picker and it should come up. The 5820K, in the pc with 64gb of RAM has 6 cores, where as the 4790K only has 4 cores, so for 3D rendering I think you'd be better with the more cores. With a good cooler, the 5820K can be overclocked to the same speeds as the 4790K, so you should definitely look into overclocking. However, I'd also recommend taking a look at the new skylake platform from Intel, which is an update to the Z97 Haswell platform. While these skylake CPUs wont perform better than the 5820K, they are another option and have much more up to date features than the 6700K.
